A Werewolf's Heart Part 1.1

'I'll help.' Al growled then turned human again, kicking his father as he walked past.

Howard sighed.

"You've brought this on yourself. If Ilane lives, you'll have some serious groveling to do," Rika told him, and walked after her sons in her human form.

Howard sighed again, going back into his den and started cleaning up the blood.

Sam ran ahead and went to Nick and Ilane's den, making the bed more comfortable for Ilane.

Brados laid Ilane down on her bed, very slowly and carefully, the same way he'd picked her up.

Nick knelt beside the bed and held her hand, but noticed it was at an odd angle. "I think her wrist is broken," Nick murmured, taking his hand off of hers so he didn't hurt it.

Sam knelt beside Nick and ran her hands over her wrist softly. She nodded. "It's crushed." she said, sighing. "Brados I need a splint." she said, not looking at him. She moved Nick's shirt and gasped. "She has some broken ribs too, that may mean internal bleeding. If that's the case, I can't fix it." she said. "Nick, hold her down incase she wakes up." she said, pressing slightly on her stomach, trying to see if she was bleeding inside.

Brados nodded and went to go get strong sticks to make a sprint with.

Nick nodded and put his hands on Ilane's shoulders, his face hovering above hers. "It'll be okay, baby. We're gonna get you all healed up," he murmured to her.

Ilane moaned as Sam pressed on her stomach. The first sound she'd made the whole time. "Nick, her baby's dead..." Sam said softly. "I'm sorry... But, she isn't bleeding. she should be fine."

Nick pursed his lips together and nodded. He didn't like the sound of that, but at least Ilane wasn't bleeding. "Thank you," he murmured and kissed Ilane's forehead.

Sam sighed. "I'm sorry Nick. She's not bleeding. She should be fine. We'll need to get some water into her, keep her hydrated." She said. "She should be fine." she said again.

Nick nodded. "Thank you, Sam," he told his sister, relaxed a little more now that he knew Ilane would be fine. He wouldn't feel completely better until Ilane was awake and on the mend. "Hand me the water?"

Brados handed him the water, and Nick carefully lifted Ilane's head, pouring some water into her mouth slowly.

Sam took the sticks that Brados brought and started splinting Ilane's wrist. She set the bones and Ilane moaned again and drank the water but still didn't wake up. After setting the bones, Sam stood up, taking Brados' hand, leading him out of the den.

Nick covered Ilane up with their blanket and stroked her hair as she slept, murmuring softly to her. Mainly "I love you" and "I'm right here".

Brados followed Sam out, then picked her up and held her once they were outside. "I love you," he told her. "Ilane will be alright." He knew she was worried.

Ilane didn't wake up. She didn't move. She was barley breathing. She didn't even know that Nick was whispering to her.

Sam wrapped her arms and legs around her, crying softly into his shoulder. "I hope so. Nick's really scared. I hope I'm right about her not bleeding internally."

Nick got up onto the bed next to her, careful of her wrist and ribs, and wrapped one arm around her stomach, trying to keep her warm. He kept murmuring to her, until he eventually fell asleep due to his exhaustion.

Brados held her and kissed her cheek. "I'm sure you were right, love. Think positive. Ilane's strong; she'll heal."

Sam nodded slowly, resting her head on his shoulder. "Let's go to our den... I'm exausted." she said.

Brados nodded and carried her to their den, and laid her down in the bed crawling under the blanket after her.

Sam moved close to Brados, laying her head on his chest. "You remember a week ago when we made love?" she asked.

"How could I forget," Brados whispered and kissed her softly, wrapping his arms around her.

"Well, you got my pregnant that night." she said softly, smiling up at him.

Brados smiled and hugged her close, nuzzling her happily. "You're gonna make such a good mom," he kissed her happily.

"And you're going to make a good Dad. I can already see you playing around in your wolf form with our kids." she smiled.

He chuckled. "I can't wait," he grinned and kissed her forehead.

She smiled, laying her head back on his chest. "I hope that Ilane isn't damaged... They deserve a baby..."

Brados nodded. "Yes, they do," he agreed, stroking her hair softly.

She sighed, closing her eyes and slowly falling asleep. "I lvoe you."
