He smiled. "Alright. I'll try my best not to fall asleep this time," he promised.

Kat smiled warmly, kissin gderyk gently. "love, I don't care if you fall asleep... You've worked so hard for us. You deserve it okay?"

He kissed her softly back. "I just want to make sure you're happy," he murmured.

Kat smiled. "I'm happy with you. And that's all I want or ever will want okay?"

"Let me rephrase. I want to make sure a smile is on your face. I want to make sure it's a real smile, and not a fake one. I can't make sure of that if my eyes are closed," he pointed out.

Kat laughed. "You already make me happy and make me smile. I don't think you need to make sure you do..."

He studied her for a long moment. "I need to know you're happy. It makes me happy."

Kat sighed, nodding slowly. "As you wish love...." She hit the play button on the remote, the movie starting.

He wrapped his arms around her and held her, watching the movie with her. "I love you," he whispered. "I really do."

Kat smiled in his arms, resting her head just under his. "I love you too... So so much..."

He kissed the top of her head and rested his cheek on her hair. "You have no idea how happy that makes me," he murmured softly.

Kat smiled, curling up in his arms. "You have no idea how happy you make me...."

He smiled and held her close, rubbing her back affectionately. "As long as you're happy," he smiled at her.

Kat smiled. "I'll always be happy with you. There's never a day I won't be..."

He kissed her cheek. "I'll always be here to make you happy," he promised softly, holding her close.

Kat smiled, curling up in his arms some. "Glad to hear that love... Cause I'll be right here, with you, always."

He smiled happily and kissed her forehead, rubbing her back as he laid his cheek on her hair and returned to the movie.

Kat smiled, closing her eyes. She hadn't felt this good since... Well hell, she didn't think she'd ever felt this good. How was it possible to feel higher than cloud 9?

Deryk was glad she was happy. That was his entire goal, after all. He was finally able to be happy, though he still mourned their baby boy, the pain wasn't as bad.

Kat knew he wanted a son. She knew that the death of their first had absolutely destroyed him, but the way he was now was how she always wanted him to be. Happy, happy as christmas time...

Deryk held her all through the movie, which he managed to stay awake to see with her. He yawned as the credits started, unable to help himself. "A nice choice, love," he smiled, kissing her forehead.

Kat smiled, nodding. "Thank you babe." She laid her head on his chest, closing her eyes with a yawn. "Mmm, I'm tired now..."

He smiled, closing his eyes and laying his head on the arm of the couch. "So am I," he yawned again.

Kat nodded, sighing. "Let's go to bed now..."

He chuckled softly. "I think I'm stuck here."
