Soon a voice, deep and low but also gentle as well came inside her head. Dear child of Nyx...you are very troubled by the latest events. It seems that you have been brought here for a purpose.

Amber arched an eyebrow, though stepping towards the swords. She saw one in particular that stood out to her, a two-handed dual-edged blade, about 30 inches in length, possibly more. "And what, mystical voice-in-my-head, could that be?"

To finally end Kalona's rage upon the earth and of the women. There has been enough bloodshed and rape to last centuries on from this one. Can you do this or am I to be failed like I once had long ago? The mystical voice was actually, Erebus, Nyx's consort.

Her hand wrapped around the hilt of the sword, the cool metal feeling like home to her skin. "I can do it. I won't fail you. I know not what you wish me to do, but as you have assisted Nyx all these years, I shall assist you." She closed her eyes turning from the swords to the wall of armor. She was in the armory, where there should of been no armor for women, as the women were not to fight. But there in front of her, glimmered bronze plating fit for someone just her height and weight.

I cannot promise you that the boy will be spared. He is practically another vessel for Kalona to use if he dies and not completely. Do you have the courage if the time comes that you must kill him? Erebus knew how deep love can affect you, obviously however, this was a different matter.

Amber stared down at the ground, tears falling to the ground. How had this happened? Did the change to being a vampyre through things out of whack, or did falling for the school's hottest turn out to be the turning point? Either way, she knew what she had to do. "Yes." She bit her lip, cursing herself for admiting what she had so much feared would come to pass.

I shall be grateful to you and any others in your bloodline for as long as it is on this earth. I'm sorry to have put such a burden on you...but the sword seems to have chosen you as it's caretaker. Soon the voice disappeared and all was silent. The winds outside blew hard, whistling of a war to come, or that at least of a great battle.

Amber sighed, nodding. "As you wish Erebus, Great consort.." She moved to the armor, running her hands over the cool metal. It was thick, yet light-weight. She turned her head to the door of the armory, seeing a figure in the doorway. She wasn't quite sure who it was, but her immediate reaction was to go defense.

It was only Stark, staring at Amber. "What are you doing in here?" he asked as he walked inside and looked around. "Were you talking to yourself?" he asked, chuckling and walking up to her.

Amber lowerd the sword, biting her lip. "Oh.. Um, no. I'm not crazy, so I wasn't talking to myself though it kinda seems like it huh?" She blushed, scratching the back of her head with an embarrassed smile. "I'm... Well, I had to get away from everything, and the armory was calling to me. Turns out, so was the sword."

"Interesting....Well then, it must all mean something." Stark said, looking over her and to the sword. It seemed to give off an odd aura about her. "What exactly were you doing then? If not talking to yourself?" he asked, chuckling.

Amber smiled. "Oh, just talking to the Consort is all..." She knew she sounded crazy, but she figured that someone would have to know. "Just don't tell Zoey yeah? We kinda need to keep it a secret... You shouldn't even know but I trust you so yeah..."

"To Erebus? How is that possible?" Stark asked, staring at Amber in disbelief. Either this fledgling was taking drugs or something, or she told the truth. But how could she speak to the consort? "What exactly did you speak of? And I won't tell Zoey, I know how she can get." he chuckled.

Amber sighed, blushing some. "Well... He, ah, he told me that I would, ya know, have to fight and stuff when the big cloud starts to rain... And, that, huh, if worst comes to, I have to, ya know, kinda, take down Demitri... Which I don't want to do cause I really, uhm, like, lo-, phw..." She sighed, letting out a hiss of a breath. "Yeah.

He actually was able to understand all of Amber's muttering. Stark grinned, getting reminded of himself when he was her age. "Well then, you'll need to be taught how to even use a sword. Professor Lankford should be a good choice. Just a private session every night after school....How's that sound?" he smiled.

Amber nodded slowly, looking at the sword she'd held at her side. "Yeah... I just... Don't like knowin I might have to kill him. It's not cool in my book. But it's inevitable so yeah..."

"Well, you could always try to find a way to keep from killing your loved one as well as the source of all this chaos....Well, to kill the source and not the innocent one." Stark said, shrugging. "Either way, leave the sword here. I'll have someone pick it up and drop it off at the fencing class? After school of course. I'll inform you when the teaching starts."

Amber sighed, nodding. "Maybe... Though, we're pretty sure that the only way to kill Kalona is to kill Demitri... That he'll be possessed and such... And yeah, I'll leave the sword..." She leaned it against the wall in its previous spot, her eyes still on the armor. It was still curious as to why there was female armor in the Sons of Erebus' armory.

Stark had noticed the female suit of armor. Also curious as to why that suddenly appeared here. He never saw it til now. "Now, that's interesting....Wonder what a female's suit of armor is doing in the Sons of Erebus armory.." he muttered, rubbing his chin. "Anyways, go on to your dorm. You have enough to deal with..." he said, losing his smile as he remembered the fledgling that died not too many hours ago.

Amber nodded, tears welling up in her eyes again. She'd lost Lydia... And she'd end up losing Demitri of her own accord most likely... God, she needed a nap. She closed her eyes, yawning. "Yeah, I guess I'll go get back in then..."

Stark sighed. "Don't take this to heart, Amber....It's not your fault." he said, rubbing her back and smiling. Once she left, he sighed. He prayed to Nyx and to Erebus as well. What would happen of the school? Of Amber? Hell, of all the students....

Amber nodded gently, leaving the armory. That gentle feeling of safety fled her like a thief in the night, and it didn't return when she got back to the dorm. She had no idea where Demitri was... No idea what would become of Lydia and her things... No idea how she was supposed to get the courage enough to fight Kalona head on...

Though as the night went on, at times the wind would sound like screaming. Demitri's screaming. Still, it seemed that they were only tricks of the mind. Even the sounds of crows increased, making everyone nervous in the House of Night. A knock sounded off from Amber's room, being one of the sons of Erebus. He had been sent by Zoey.

Amber had spent most of the day blaring her radio to try to drown out the screams she could hear. It didn't help much, as the screams had driven themselves into her head. She heard the knock on the door and opened it. The Son of Erebus stood in her doorway, and she immediately became self-concious. She had changed into her sleeping clothes, and she figured she looked more of a mess than usual.

The Son of Erebus bowed. "Miss Amber, you are needed in the High Priestess's room. I am here to take you as these matters are of high importance." he said, standing upright once more and staring at her sternly.
