Lydia the cat, nodded. Amber had gone through enough, especially dealing with Demitri's situation. Sleep, fledgling, you'll need it for tomorrow.

Amber nodded, closing her eyes and easily falling to sleep. Tomorrow she'd start training with Dragon. Fun-fun... If the worst were to happen, she'd be fighting with no training. But for some reason, she wasn't exactly worried about that.

As day came and went, Demitri's cries suddently stopped. He had already passed out, fighting his own instincts and then with his 'father's'. It was horrible, the fight going on within him. Morals versus Desire. What a damn great year. He panted, drops of sweat just almost pouring from his face like rain. He didn't know how much longer he could fight and survive. His head ached as if someone took a hammer and beat him with it.

Amber....I'm so sorry....

Amber had tried going through her classes as normal as possible, but every time her ears grasped onto Demitri's screams she cringed and covered her head. She couldn't take much more. It had to stop... She didn't know how much pain he was in, but she understood that it had to be immense. She bit her lip as she finished her last class, leaving the room first to go try and see Demitri, or what of him she could.

Zoey had yet to go into her room, and so it was wide open for Amber to go in. But obviously, it was not well advised for her to see him. Demitri looked much more pale, and panted harder. He swore that he couldn't feel his head pound so much. "Someone.....Someone..kill me...God." he groaned, closing his eyes tightly as a voice in his head laughed. "Damn you! Why me?!" he screamed.

Amber peeked inside, seeing Demitri's withered body struggling to hold control. "Oh god... Demitri." She stepped inside, her hand concious to the fact that the sword she'd discovered in the armory was close by her side, though people often wondered why she was carrying it around. She never said anything more than she was taking lessons from Dragon. She stood a few feet away from Demitri, wondering if now was the time she was supposed to kill him. Yet, it didn't seem right... So instead she kissed his forehead and settled back in a chair across from him. "Demitri, what's happened to you?"

Demitri coughed, or rather hacked since he hadn't had much to drink. They gave him blood, obviously, but it was something to tame him. Mostly with wine. With too much and he could regain strength enough to break from the chains and go after the women especially. He flinched as Amber kissed his cold forehead. "I....I don't know. I don't want to know. All I know is that I just want to die...I can't hurt anyone, I can't."

Amber watched him, the pitiful creature he'd become... It made her sick. "I'm so sorry this is happening to you...." She sighed, sitting forward and resting her arms on her knees. "I wish there was a way I could help you... But my time isn't yet..." She itched at her forehead feeling that damned tingling again.

Demitri grunted, stopping his forced breath. "Amber...please. You have that thing with you, don't you? That sword I see? Or am I seeing things?" he said, opening his eyes and barely seeing life within them. "Kill me....Before anyone gets hurt.." he mumbled, his vision blurring.

Amber sighed, eyeing her sword. Would she? No... No! I can't! Not yet, it's not the time. Is it? She closed her eyes, praying to Erebus and Nyx for an answer. She opened her eyes, kneeling infront of Demitri. "I don't think I can..." She sighed, watching him as what little strength he had left nearly disappeared all together.

"You don't understand! I'm dying already! I-I can feel him starting to take over. I-....I don't want to hurt you." Demitri said, shaking his head violently as he tried to get rid of the pounding headache, only making it worse. "Just do this for me, damnit!" he hissed, his eyes going completely red, even his marks as well, except then it went black. He was being possesed as they spoke.

Amber nodded, kissing him gently before standing up and stepping back. "Demitri... I love you so you can't hate me for this..." She unsheathed the sword, swinging it around over her head once before bringing it down and stabbing him through the chest. As the sword moved through his body and out the other side, she sobbed. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she fell to her knees. "I'm sorry Demitri..."

Demitri heard the sound of the sword being unsheathed, and soon he felt it through his body. He coughed blood, his eyes wide and groaned loudly in pain. His whole being quivered, shaking as he felt himself slowly drifting away. Seeing Amber cry, he couldn't help but shed a few tears as well. "Yo...You'll be ok....Amber, please..don't ever regret this..." he said, wanting to add a few more words but obviously, death's arms soon embraced him, taking him from the world of the living and only leaving a corpse, one whose eyes showed pain, suffering, but yet also peace. The wind outside was loud, as if to tell the world that Kalona was yet to be done with, he also never once mourned for his own's death. Just another shell to throw away.

Amber stared down at Demitri's empty body, shaking. The tears had stopped, for now she shook with anger. Kalona never quit... So she wouldn't either. She slowly pulled the sword out of Demitri's chest, setting it down on the ground in a puddle of blood that was stopping the flow. She laid him back, closing his eyes gently. She kissed him softly. "I'll always love you Demitri.." She stood, sheathing the sword and moving to the door of Zoey's office to call for her.

As soon as the wind stopped, even Zoey knew something had happened. Either someone's dead, or something's coming and fast. She hurried to her office only to find Amber right beside the door, looking as if someone had died before her again. "Amber? What are you doing here?" she asked softly as she walked up to her.

Amber stared at the ground for a decently long time, the sword limp in her hands. It clattered to the ground as she slumped against the door-jam, tears rolling down her cheeks. "I.. I had to.. He was in so much pain. He wanted me to. I didn't want to... But I knew I had to..."

Zoey remained silent, but walked to her and kneeled, hugging her tightly. "It's alright...At least he's out of pain. You did him a favor. But for right now, I have things to discuss with you. When I went to check on your friend's body, it was gone. We're not sure if she turned into a red vampyre, but I have a few of the Sons of Erebus looking for her, or whatever took her." she said in a hushed voice.

Amber nodded, feeling the rest of her world start to crumble around her. "O...Okay. Thank you Zoey." She rested her right hand over her heart in a fist, sighing as she bowed her head. "Thank you." She stood, her eyes flying back to Demitri's body. She choked back the new sobs that were coming, her body shaking from stress and depression.

Zoey showed the same respect, her fist over her heart followed by a bow. "Please go and rest, you've suffered enough. I have things to deal with that are of grave importance. Go." she said, squeezing Amber's shoulder and going inside, closing the door and trying to decide what to do with Demitri's body. She had no idea if Kalona had learned any new tricks, such as taking over the dead.

Amber nodded, disappearing into the hall. She ran, not just sprinted, but full on ran as she dodged random groups of students. The sun would be rising soon, there was no doubt about that. She had to get inside soon.

The students however seemed in a hurry as well. Odd thing was, they weren't rushing from the sun rising, it was something else. The air around the school just seemed eerie and not right. As she arrived to her dorm and went into her room, her cat was also on alert. The very fur was standing and she looked tense.

Amber opened her door to her dorm just as the sun peaked over the school's gate. She felt the warmth on her back, saw the rays cascade over her shoulders and head, but felt no uncomfort. Just a strange tingling on her forehead again. She turned to the sun and gasped, swallowing as she stared at the figure standing in the courtyard, staring back at her.

Kalona stood there, his wings spread. He of course did not have the same afflictions as the vampyres, but he did hate the light. Clouds soon came rolling in, dark and looking unnatural. The sun was then blocked, though his eyes, that radiant stare, was unable to be dismissed. He stared straight at Amber, chuckling and smirking. He began walking towards her, his intentions being of the evil nature that he came from. However, Zoey soon came outside along with the other teachers, she hadn't expected for him to come now. She couldn't get her friends to help, they were all separated. Was that what he was waiting for? "Stop! Don't dare touch this girl, Kalona! You fiend!" she hissed, standing before Amber and staring back. "You think you can stop me? Haven't we gone through this before, priestess?" he said, snapping his fingers and as soon as that happened, his 'children' came about, surrounding the two.

Amber stared. She couldn't believe it. Her hand fumbled for the sword, but then she stopped. You wouldn't use it on me anyways. The sultry voice of the vily beautiful man before her terrified her more than anything else. And he was right. She wouldn't have the guts to use it on him. She didn't have the strength or determination. And he was beautiful... God, so beautiful. She stared at the the things surrounding her and Zoey and grimaced, they were dearful, disturbing.. Things of nightmares.

Amber, do not fall for his appearance! The vision you are seeing is not what he is really not as it seems! It was Erebus' warning, but he knew it may fail. Zoey had already been used to Kalona, having seen his ugly side long ago. She called upon the service of the wind, blowing the creatures away from them, though Kalona was firm on the ground. "Come to me, Amber....You killed my son, the only one to even inherit my own powers....Come to me and you may redeem yourself for such a bloody deed." the silky voice said, smirking.
