It's a Love Story

She shrugged. "Just pick one."

"Do you like... strawberry cheesecake," he asked, looking at the flavors of ice cream.

"I adore any kind of cheese cake." she said.

"Then strawberry cheesecake it is," he smiled at her.

She chuckled. "Do you like cotton candy?" she asked.

"I do. They make cotton candy ice cream," he asked, astounded.

She nodded, asking for 2 scoops and for both the straberry cheese cake and the cotton candy be combined in one waffer bowl.

Mike paid for the ice cream and they both sat down at a table.

Lilli smiled at him and took a bite of her cheesecake ice cream. "I have somewhere I want to take you tomorrow."

"Where," he asked curiously with a smile.

"You'll have to find out tomorrow." she smirked.

He chuckled. "I suppose I'll find out tomorrow, then." He figured she must like him if she already had somewhere planned to take him.

"You'll like it." she smiled.

"I'm sure I will," he smiled.

"Is there anything specific I should wear tonight at the thing...?" she aske him.

"Jeans and a nice shirt is fine," he smiled. "No need to get all fancied up."

"I just don't want to stand out..." she smiled.

"No one will care," he smiled. "We came to have fun. Hoe downs are what hillbillies do best," he chuckled.

She laughed. "Yeah.. but still."

"We can't judge you," he reminded her. "This is y'all's land. This ain't ours."

"Wow...." she chuckled. "You're making it sound like you're not allowed here."

"Nah," he laughed. "I just mean we're the weird ones here, not you. You shouldn't feel so self-conscious. That and you're beautiful," he blushed for admitting so. "So you'll get positive attention, no matter what you do."

She smiled, blushing herself. "Thank you." she said softly. "Does your little sister wear makeup?" she asked.

"If mud can count as makeup," he chuckled. "Little girls out in the country don't much care for makeup. It's when they get into middle school that they get makeup."

"Ohh. So, if I stopped by your hotel room offering to give her a make over for the hoedown tonight, she'd turn me down?" she asked.
