It's a Love Story

He smiled and flipped through it, staring at the sketches for a long time before he turned the next page. "These are amazing," he told her, smiling.

She looked at him with a smile. "You really think so?"

"These look just like photographs," he nodded, smiling at her.

She smiled at him. "Thank you."

"No need for thanks," he smiled at her. "They really do."

"I don't know what I should do with them. My parent's don't really like me drawing. They're certain that I'm going to go to medical school. They're already looking at colleges." she said, frowning.

"Why won't they let you go to art school? You're certain to get in with these alone," he said.

"They wont." she said, shrugging. "They don't want me to become anything but a doctor."

"That ain't fair," he frowned. "It's a free country. You should be able to do what you want."

"I haven't told them what I want." she said.

"Why not," he asked.

she shrugged. "Im not sure."

"You should tell them," he told her gently. "I'd rather do something I love than make a lot of money and hate my job."

She shrugged. "I don't want to disappoint them."

"Then don't. But don't stop drawing," he told her. "A gift this amazing should not be put to waste."

She smiled at him. "thank you."

He smiled. "You're most welcome."

she smiled. "You wanna go for a ride?" she asked.

"Sure," he smiled.

She smiled and nodded, standing and hending him the guitar. "My car is down the block parked in a long term parking garage."

He took his guitar and carefully put it in its case, then stood. "Don't you have to pay for those things?"

She shrugged. "My parents pay for it." she said, taking his hand gently.

"I see," he held her hand. "Where are we going that requires a car," he asked curiously.

"Out of the city." she smiled, not telling him any more than that.

He looked at her curiously. "Out of the city? Where are we going," he asked, very interested now.
