It's a Love Story

"My mother loves pizza and rolls," he smiled. "We all love lasagna and salads."

"Pizza like american pizza?" she asked, holding his hand with both of hers now, letting it rest on her lap.

"Yes," he smiled. "Only with itallian cheeses and more tomato int he sauce."

she smiled. "That sounds really good."

"It is delicious," he smiled. "My mother makes it the best. We will make it for your birthday."

She smiled. "I'd like that." she nodded, kissing his hand.

He smiled and squeezed her hand gently.

She smiled. "I'm having fun." she told him.

"I am, too. I like spending time with you," he smiled at her.

she nodded. "I don't care what we're doing as long as I'm with you."

He smiled and kissed her hand. About halfway there, a semi was driving on the wrong side of the road. Pavo blew his horn many times and still he didn't move. At the last second, pavo swirved into the dirt beside the road, narrowly escaping the semi. Even still, the car went spinning as it was hit in the corner. Pavo let go of the wheel, through the gear into park, and covered Roman with his own body as the car went tumbling, trying to protect her.

Roman had hit her head really hard and could tell things were broken. She opened her eyes and saw Pavo on top of her. "Pavo?" she asked softly.

Pavo didn't answer, move, or breathe. His head was split open, his skull fractured.

"Pavo.... Please wake up..." Roman said, getting scared. She felt blood trickling down her arm and didn't know if it was hers or his.

Still, he didn't respond. Someone shouted for them. "Are you alright," the witness asked, looking inside the car.

"He isn't moving and I think I have something broken." she told them, hearing ambulances already. She looked back at Pavo. "You're suppose to be my fist kiss... wake up... Pavo please!"

The medics helped them from the car and rushed them both to the hospital. They tried to revive Pavo, but there was nothing they could do to revive someone who had died of a head wound.

Roman had yelled for Pavo, wanting him back. Once at the hospital she just laid in her bed. She had a broken wrist and a broken leg. The docters said that she would be dead also if Pavo hadn't protected her.

Mike had rushed to the hospital as soon as he'd heard what happened. "Roman," he yelled, wanting to see if his daughter was alright.

Roman sat up slightly. "Daddy?" she called out. He probably didn't even ask where her room was, just went looking for her.

He followed his daughter's voice and hurried to her bedside. "Honey, are you alright," he asked, looking around to see what the damage had been. Obviously, she'd broken a leg and wrist. Those would heal. "Any internal injuries," he asked, obviously worried and frantic.

She shook her head and started breaking down again. "Pavo died... He died protecting me..." she said, crying. "I was falling in love with him....."

Mike held his daughter as she cried, his heart breaking for his youngest baby. He felt responsible, not being more supportive up front.

Roman held onto him, crying hard. "Daddy... We have to get him home. We have to get his body back to Rome so he can be burried with his family." She said after about an hour. "Please find a way... He can't be burried here, his family meant so much to him. He deserves to be with them." she said, trying really hard not to start crying again.

Mike nodded. "Alright, baby. We will, I promise." He held his little girl close.
