It's a Love Story

He chuckled. "Perhaps it is with everyone else. I respect you, bellezza. I will not steal a kiss from you."

"But what if I want you to?" she asked, smiling up at him.

"Then I will let you be the one to kiss me," he chuckled softly.

"But I don't want the one giving my first kiss...." she said, pouting cutely.

He chuckled. "Then tell me when you're ready and I'll surprise you later," he compromised.

"What if I'm ready now?" she asked, now with a smile.

"Then I'll surprise you later," he smiled.

She smiled and nodded. "Good."

He chuckled and kissed her forehead, holding her hand.

She smiled. "do you want to get something to eat?" she asked. "there's a really nice guy who owns a hot dog stand not far from here."

"Sure," he smiled, standing and helping her up.

she smiled and stood, grabbing her stuff. "It's this way." she said, getting back onto the sidewalk.

He walked with her, holding her hand gently.

"So, why'd you come here? Like, to america. I'm sure the schools in Rome are better than the ones here." she said.

"My mother insisted I become more cultured and spend a year in school in different countries with high academics," he told her.

She nodded. "Well, the school you're at right now is one of the best in the nation. So, you picked good."

He chuckled. "I'm glad I picked this school," he nodded, smiling at her. "Else I wouldn't have met you."

"I might have met you in Rome. I want to go there." she smiled.

He smiled. "I'll take you when I go back, provided your father lets you go," he chuckled.

she nodded. "I hope he does."

He smiled down at her, squeezing her hand gently. "I will show you everything. Beautiful hills, many vineyards, wonderous cities. You will love Italy."

"Can we go to Venis?" she asked.

"Of course," he smiled. "I cannot wait to show you everything."

She smiled. "Really? You'll take me to Venice?

"I'll show you Vennice and Montreal and Rome," he listed, happy as a clam at the idea of her being with him.
