It's a Love Story

She smiled and held his hand, laying her head on his arm. She was asleep by the time the movie was over, all but clinging to his arm as she slept.

Jon simply played the movie over again while she slept, not wanting to move and wake her up.

Mike finally got up and ate breakfast, then went out to check on the horses. He sighed, leaning against Cloud's stall. "What am I gonna do, boy," he asked the silver horse, patting the side of his neck. "We just ain't gonna agree on this one..." The horse snorted and nickered, looking at him with his big eyes. Mike thought a long while and nodded, sighing. "you're right, boy." He got up and went back in the house to find his wife.

Lilli had locked herself in the room, to upset about the fight. She had stayed up half the night crying because of it. She simply laid in her bed, the blankets and pillows making a nest for her.

Mike knocked on their bedroom door. "Lilli, babe, I'm sorry," he said through the door. "Will you let me in, please?"

"I need to think, Mike." she said, just loud enough for him to hear.

"Will you listen to me," he asked gently. "I was wrong. Very wrong. I was thinking, what if you had listened to your dad? We would be together and have all this. I don't want Rome to miss out on something so amazing. I don't want to be the obstical between them. I don't want to be your dad. I want to be your husband."

Lilli quickly got up and went to the door, opening it only a little and sticking her head out. "You mean it?" she asked softly.

He nodded. "I swear my life on it. I'm sorry, baby."

She opened the door and all but threw herself at him, burrying her face in his chest.

He held his wife close, murmuring countless apologies and 'I love you's.

She simply stood there, letting him hold her. "I love you..." she said softly. "So much... I'm sorry for calling you my father."

"You had every right to," he kissed her softly. "I'm sorry for cursing at you," he stroked her cheek. "And yelling."

She leaned into his touch and nodded. "Me too."

"Will you ever forgive me, love," he asked, feeling horrible for hurting his one and only love's heart like that.

She nodded, wrapping her arms around his waist and letting him hold her agian. "Yes. I forgive you." she said without a thought.

He kissed her lovingly, passionately. "I don't deserve you," he murmured. "You're too good for me."

She chuckled and nodded. "I know."

He chuckled, shaking his head. "Why you put up with an old country hick like me, I'll never know."

"Me neither." she said, leaning up and kissing his lips.

He kissed her softly, the kiss growing deeper and deeper the longer he held her.

Slowly, Lilli pulled away and looked up at him. "I'm not the only one you need to apologize to." she said softly.

Mike nodded and kissed her forehead, then went to go look for Roman. He knocked on her door. "Rome? You in there, honey? I'm sorry for being a jerk last night. I was wrong. I have no problem with you and Pavo seeing each other."

Roman slowly opened her door also, looking like her mom. "You mean it?"

He had to chuckle at the likeness. "Yes. Wholeheartedly. I'm sorry," he apologized again.
