"Murders happen every day, by other human hands," he said grimly. "We can't turn back what the rogue did, Olivia. It sounds harsh, but they'll have to learn to live without him."

"I wouldn't be able to live without my father..." she mumbled.

"Your father isn't the one who died. You don't have to worry about that," he said gently. "We can't do anything to help them, or the kid's father."

She sighed and nodded, laying down on her bed, her head on the bear that he had won her. "I guess..." she whispered.

He sat next to her, offering her his hand to hold. "It'll be alright," he told her.

She sat up and took his hand. "Thank you."

He held it, trying to be reassuring, though he wasn't sure if it was working.

She looked at him and sighed, slowly standing and moving into his arms.

He blinked and held her, hoping he was comforting her. "We'll get the rogues," he promised softly. "Not one will escape."

"I hope so." she whispered, feeling better with him around.

He held her, having no idea that his father peeked in through the open door. He hadn't said anything, just kept on walking. He didn't look angry, but a little glad his daughter had found a boy that belonged in their world.

Olivia looked at him and smiled slightly. "Thank you."

He offered a comforting smile. "You're welcome," he murmured.

She smiled back and nodded. "You wanna go somewhere?" she asked.

"Sure. Where do you want to go?"

"I know a place." she smiled, taking his hand and leading him out of the compound.

He went with her, holding her hand still.

She went down the street a little which was really their driveway. It was about a mile long with hidden cameras. No one was getting at this compound without someone knowing. But she went into a little inlet and into the woods. "It's a bit of a hike for you. You up for it?" she asked.

"Sure," he smiled, following her.

She smiled. "It's not to bad to do in the dark for a human. I don't think. I don't hang out with humans." she shrugged, walking a head of him.

"Now you do," he chuckled.

She nodded, smiling. "I do."

"So where are you taking me," he asked curiously.

"It's a place that I've found. Nothing special but it's got a great view of everything." she said, looking behind her and seeing that he was slowing down a bit so she did also.

He smiled and kept following her.
