"Did you attack him?" she asked then getting a sniff of something odd in the air. "What is that?"

"That's the smell of a rogue," Damon said, coming towards them. He'd smelled it, too. "You did good in killing it, Ryder," he praised his son. "We have to burn the human body. We can't leave any trace behind."

"But what about his family?" Olivia asked.

"We can't worry about that. The only thing that matters is protecting the secret of our race," he told his 'neice" gently.

She nodded. "Alright." she said softly. "I'll go get Daddy." she said, handing her bear to James then rushing off.

Niko came back with his daughter, frowning at what had happened. "I think it's time we go home," he said.

Damon nodded. "Ryder, take them back. Niko and I will stay here."

"But, dad-"

"Now," Damon told him.

"Alright..."

Olivia stood there for a moment before following Ryder.

After the body was cleaned up, Niko and Damon spent the rest of the night prowling for more rogues. They didn't seem to be organizing yet, just ones that have recently ran into bloodlust.

Olivia had taken the mans wallet before her dad and uncle had burned the body and was sitting on her bed, looking at his license and his pictures.

James knocked on Olivia's door. "Olivia? You okay?"

"Yeah..." she said. "You can come in. It's unlocked.

He peeked in. "You doing alright," he asked.

"He had a family." she said softly looking up at him.

He walked in and sat by her, looking at the pictures. "Those damn rogues have ruined so many lives...," he cursed, getting pissed off. "That youngest doesn't look five years old!"

"She's never going to know what happened to her daddy..." she mumbled.

He spat a harsh curse and started pacing, furious. "We need to stop them before this happens to anyone else," this was more personal to him, since he'd been through a similar thing, only losing his mother and being betrayed by his girlfriend. His mother was closest to him, similar to Ryder and Baily's relationship.

"I'm not allowed to do anything though..." she said, watching him.

"Just because you aren't, doesn't mean I can't," he muttered, remembering his freedom to stay and go as he pleased.

She was about to protest that but stopped and nodded. "Of course."

"I'll get these damn rogues," he promised to her, fury apparent in his eyes. "I'll kill them all or die trying."

She bit her lip and nodded. "Let my family help you." she asked softly.

He nodded. "Of course."

she nodded and looked back at the pictures. "They're never going to know what happened..." she said softly.

"Humans shouldn't know about the vampire world," he murmured. "Or how many deaths the rogues cause."

"But what about their dad?" she asked.
