It's a Love Story

"Perhaps. The high school up the road? I am a transfer student here. In the 12th grade," he nodded.

She smiled, nodding. "I'm in 9th." she said.

"Roman, we have to get going now." Lilli said from the door where everyone else was.

Rome nodded towards them then looked back at Pavo. "Meet me in the court yard tomorrow?" she asked then sighed. "Damn... I was suspended... Uhm... Maybe I'll see you at school later then."

"I look forward to it, Madam Roman," he smiled, nodding.

She smiled and nodded, going back to her family. She looked back at him as they left.

"Who's that hunk," Rosie asked her, linking their arms.

"His name is Pavo. He's from Rome." she smiled. "He's in your history class.'

"Oh! I remember him now - he's hilarious. Invite him over for dinner," she smiled. "Hurry, before he drives away." He was walking to his car.

Roman looked at her mom who nodded. She took her shoes off and handed them to Rosie then ran towards Pavo. "Hey, Pavo." she smiled, catching up to him, much shorter without her heals. "I was wondering if you wanted to come over to my family's house for dinner. Tomorrow." She said, blushing.

Pavo heard his name being called and turned around, surprised to see Roman. "Madam Roman, you will step on something sharp," he said disapprovingly. Then he heard the invitation to dinner and he blinked. "Dinner tomorrow? That sounds wonderful, yes," he smiled. "I would love to come. Grazi," he smiled.

"I couldn't run over here in high heels... Not with my balance." she smiled and looked around. "Uhm. You have paper or a pen maybe? I can give you my address and my number in case you get lost."

He nodded and got into his car, pulling out his bookbag - getting a notebook and a pen out to use. "I give you my number, too, yes?" He wrote his number down, as well as the address of the place he was staying, and gave the portion of the paper to her. "And yours, madam?"

she nodded and wrote down her address and her cell number, handing the notebook back to him. "Thank you." she smiled.

"You are welcome. Let me walk you back to your family. I do not want you to hurt your feet," he told her, offering her a pair of slippers he had in his car.

"No," she smiled. "It's okay. I'll be okay. I promise."

"Madam Roman, please accept my slippers at least," he insisted.

"If I accept them do I have to wear them?" she asked, smiling.

"Yes," he chuckled. "I would like you to wear them."

"Well, if I accept your escort do I have to accept your slippers?" she asked, still smiling.

"If you accept my escort but do not accept my slippers, then I will have to carry you, Madam," he chuckled.

"Is there any way to get out of this with out embarrassing myself?" she asked.

He laughed. "I suppose not."

"Well, you know, I am on the track team at school and neither of my siblings can catch me when I'm in trouble with them. Who's saying I just don't run away right now?" she asked.

"Roman, stop flirting and come on!" Jon yelled from the car window.

"What is keeping you here then, Madam," he asked, chuckling.

"Your charm." she smiled "But I promise I'll be okay. There's nothing on the road and my car's right there."

He chuckled. "Then go to your car. If something gets caught in your foot, I blame you," he said, putting his slippers back in his car.
