She moaned in pure bliss, her hand at the back of his head, encouraging him.

He drank hungrily until he'd gotten what he needed, then licked the wounds closed. "Come to me, baby," he whispered huskily in her ear.

When she was fast asleep, he gathered his clothes and slipped on his shoes. As he did so, something small and red, the size of a dime, caught his eye on her skin. He looked closer and hissed and drew back, nearly backin himself against the wall.

She was a Breedmate.

And now, she was his.

She stretched and rolled over in her sleep, the mark that was seen just a moment before on her ankle, covered up by the messy comforter on his bed. She was having a dream, a vision that the thing that scared her outside the office last night was not a stray dog but a vampire, and somehow...this man she slept with killed it.

He growled quietly, his eyes glowing amber in the darkness of the early morning. They glowed in anger and desire for her blood and body again, as mates normally did. Practically non-stop. He hadn't wished to take a mate. No, not until the war was over against the Rogues. But now she was his, and he had to protect her from the enemy, as his instincts drove him to do. He went to her, silent as death, and laid his palm over her forehead. "Sleep until I tell you to wake," he whispered. This would ensure that she would not wake up on the way back to the compound. He dressed her, trying not to linger on her skin, and picked her up carefully, carried her to his car, and drove to the compound.

She slept through the whole thing, moaning in her sleep the slightest bit when he touched her.

He carried her inside the elevator that would take them several hundreds of feet below ground, where the Order lived and operated. As he exited the elevator and walked back to his private quarters, he growled at the curious glances at him from the six other members of the Order. They offered no comment, just watched as he walked past them with a woman in his arms.

"That ain't somethin you see every day," the youngest of them murmured.

"Unless you like your head, I suggest you keep your mouth shut," one of the oldest murmured back.

She nuzzled into his chest as he picked her up and carried her.

He laid her down on his bed after kicking his door shut and put his palm over her forehead. "Wake when you're rested," he murmured and kicked his shoes off, walking towards the bathroom as he pulled his shirt off.

She woke in a few minutes with a splitting headache. She sat up slowly looking around "This....is not where I fell asleep...where am I?" she asked groggily holding her head in her hands.

"My place," he called from the bathroom. He walked out, shirtless. He hadn't expected her to wake up so early. "We need to talk. Your birthmark, on your ankle... Women who have those are like royalty to us. Those women should be treated with the utmost respect and care." He thought for a moment. "Those women also tend to have special abilities, like mind reading and healing. Do you have such an ability," he asked.

Bethany furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, "Sometimes I have dreams, and....they end up coming true...or..they're from the past or..." she groaned falling back onto the bed putting a pillow over her face, "I knew I shouldn't have drank too much....and what are you even talking about, it's too early to confuse me."

"Have you ever had dreams about vampires," he asked. "Evil ones and others that kill the evil ones?"

She nodded quietly sitting up, burrying her head once again in her hands.

"I am one of the ones that kills the evil ones," he told her. "I'm the leader of the Order. That's what the Order does, is track down the Rogues and kill them. There are some who have mates, called Breedmates. You are a Breedmate. All who have your birthmark are. Two others are living here, mated to my brothers-in-arms."

She just nodded trying to process all of this.

He stopped his explanation, watching her. "Do you not believe me? Do you not trust your visions?"

"I guess...most of the visions, I thought they were dreams, cause....I didn't know vampires were really even real, and...I saw things, that..I didn't really even see take place with my own eyes, to prove that they were visions....and I always have them while I'm asleep...and very very very few when I'm awake..." she said keeping her head in place, it felt like if she moved it, it was going to spontaneously combust.

"You must have seen horrible things," he murmured and cursed himself mentally as soon as the words left his lips. Why was he being sympathetic towards this female? Probably because he could sense what she was feeling...

But still. To have seen vampires in her visions... Must have been very bloody.

"The worst one....two vampires tore apart a mother....then went after her baby...the next day...they were reported missing....their pictures on the newspaper...I fainted." she said quietly a few tears running down her cheek.

"I remember that," he growled, angered at the memory. "I made those two suffer for what they'd done. They died slowly and painfully."

"I woke up, and...I wanted to do something...but I didn't know where they were at..I didn't even want to find them, and I did and I didn't and.....I just felt like I could've done something, that I could've saved them...." she cried shuddering as the memory replayed in her head, she closed her eyes tightly trying to forget, "All of those people I could've helped...."

His body acted on its own; he walked towards her and sat next to her on the bed, his hand placed gently on her head. "they were avenged tenfold," he murmured. "Sometimes, even I was too late to save them. but you couldn't have done anything. The Rogues would have just found other prey."

She turned ever so slightly and burried her head in his chest, crying from the knowledge of all the death she saw over the years was true...only...that one instance did she ever see it come true the others must've been in places far away, outside her news area...then she cried for her splitting headache. She really couldn't handle hangovers very well at all.
