"what makes you say that, sweetheart," she asked, smiling softly down at him.

" because daddy will always be" he said.

She rocked back and forth on her heels slowly, humming. "I love you, Nicky," she said softly, kissing the top of his head.

" I wuv you too mommy" he said gently

She smiled. "What are we going to do tomorrow," she asked him softly.

" Not sure." he said shaking his head.

"Shall we get your sister to start walking," she smiled.

" Is she old enough" he asked

"No. But it's something to do," she smiled. "We did the same thing with you," she tickled his belly.

He giggled and looed at her " really>"

She smiled and nodded. "Yes, we did. We were shocked when you started talking early, too. But we were so happy - we have the smartest son," she smiled, kissing his cheek.

He giggled and smiled

She smiled and looked up, hearing Sammy whining. "Shall we get Sammy up and go see your daddy," she asked Nicky.

" Ok" he said nodding.

Iris kissed her son's cheek and went to go get her daughter up. "Hey, sweetie," she said softly, picking the baby up and holding her close, bouncing gently.

Sammy stopped whining and relaxed in her mother's arms, though she didn't feel like sleeping anymore.

Iris went back to Nicky and smiled, bending down to kiss his forehead. "Ready to go see daddy?"

" Yesh" He smiled.


Dameon was sitting in his study looking at some books.

Iris walked in, carrying Sammy and holding Nicky's hand. "Hey, sweetie," she smiled at Dameon. "Any sign of our new recruit yet?"

" No. He's in trouble when he gets back. It was to be a simple recon mission. See a rouge kill it then come back and report." he said standing up.


Nicky ran to him and hugged his leg. " Dadddyyy"


Dameon picked him up, " I'm sorry I've been busy. I know its rather dull just being a typical mother and mate of a leader." he said to Iris. " Taking care of kids all day mustn't be thrilling." He said.

Iris shook her head, smiling at the sight of her mate holding their son. "The one and only downside is that you can't spend more time with us," she said, kissing his cheek.

" well I'm glad you do come when I have a break. I love seeing our children." he said as he sat down and Nicky cuddled him. " And I know some nights you wish for me in bed. Its obvious by the way you look at me." he gave a slight wink. Of course this few over the kids' heads.

She chuckled and returned the wink, bouncing Sammy gently in her arms.

He laughed gently and closed his eyes.

Iris smiled. "You wanna hold your baby girl, too," he asked him, looking down at Sammy. Her eyes were big as she looked around at everything, noming on her teething ring.

" Sure" he said smiling. " She is one of a kind. Girls are never born to vampires." he said ticking her belly. " I wonder if she will be a powerful vampire."
