She nodded slowly. "That's my name? Olivia?"


Sam looked at him. "Who are you?"

Brados froze. "I'm Brados... Your mate. You don't remember me at all," he asked. "We were caught in a rock slide..."

Raini nodded. "Yes," she forced herself to seem calm and soothing.

Olivia shook her head, scrambling out of her lap. "no! I don't remember!"

Sam looked at him then looked around. Despite her injuries, she moved away from him, scared. "no... I don't know you."

Raini took her back and held her, trying to calm her down. "Olivia, sweetheart, calm down. It's alright. You're going to hurt yourself."

Brados looked at her, his expression looking heartbroken. "Sami, love, it's alright... You're badly injured. Let me take care of you," he said gently.

Olivia struggled, crying. "no!"


Sam shook her head, leaning on her broken hand. "no.. Get away from me!"

Raini held her, beginning to cry as well, looking at Al with a desperate expression. She didn't know what to do.

Brados pulled her back. "Sami, calm down," he said gently. "You have a lot of broken bones."

Al licked her cheek, pressing his nose to her ear. then he ran to get Kendal, he was needed. Soon, both of them came back, Kendal sweaty and dirty.

Sam shook her head, screaming as pain shot up her arm. "No! Stay away from me!"

Conall heard his mom screaming and picked Izzy back up, running to her. "Daddy, what's wrong with Mommy," he asked, looking at her. She looked scared.

Brados looked pained. "Do you remember them," he asked Sam softly. "Our son and baby girl - Conall and little Izzy?"

Raini looked up at them as they came back, tears rolling down her cheeks. "She doesn't remember anything..."

Olivia was holding onto Sam, balling. She was terrified but felt safe with this woman.

Kendal knelt next to them, rubbing Olivia's back. "Olivia, baby?" he asked. She only flinched and clung tighter.


Sam looked at the kids and shook her head. "No... Show I remember them?"

Raini held onto her baby. "This is your daddy," Raini told her gently.

Conall frowned sadly. "Mommy, you don't remember us?" He walked closer to her, slowly, and handed Izzy to her. Maybe she would help her remember.

Izzy smiled at her mommy, gurgling and holding her arms towards her.

"Izzy remembers you," Brados whispered softly. "She wants her mommy to hold her."

Olivia flinched again, crying hard. "I don't remember."

Sam looked at the kids and shook her head, trying to get away again but she slipped and there was a crack in her arm. She screamed and fell.

Kale heard her mom scream again and turned to Zach, hugging him again tightly.

Raini held her, rubbing her back gently. "Shh, sweetheart, it's alright."

Brados scooped up Sam gently in his arms. "You're only hurting yourself and scaring our kids," he told her gently. "Just calm down, love. It'll be alright. I'm here - I'll protect you," he kissed her forehead gently. "I'm not going anywhere."

Kendal sat down next to Sam and kissed her cheek. "It's okay." he said softly. "She's alive and that's the important part."


Sam was about to struggle but stopped, she felt oddly safe in his arms. She started to cry into his shoulder. "I can't remember... what happened to me?"

Raini nodded and leaned her head on his shoulder, crying and holding her baby close.

Brados held her gently. "The males and I were digging new dens and you came to give me water. There was a rockslide... I couldn't get to you in time..." he said, his expression even more pained. "I thought I'd lost you."

Kendal looked at Al, smiling slightly. "He looks hurt..." she said, leaning forward, letting Al limp to him. "His foot's sprained, but he should be okay." he said to Raini.

"I'm sorry... I don't remember you..." Sam said softly.

Raini stroked Al's fur and kissed the top of his head, knowing he was worried, too. "I'm sorry you got hurt, too," she murmured, tears still rolling down her cheeks.

Brados shook his head. "It isn't your fault," he told her softly. "But can you do something for me? Let your injuries heal. And try to let your memories come back. Kale would be heartbroken to find her Mom lost her memories..."

Conall tugged on her shirt. "I can take care of you, Mommy," he said. "You taught us the right herbs to use to heal. We got lots, me and Kale did. Izzy, too," he smiled at his baby sister, who gurgled.

Al sighed, putting his head on Olivia's knee who pushed him away. He whined and tried again only to be pushed away again. He sighed, putting head on Raini's knee.

sam looked down at Conall and Izzy, shaking her head. "I don't know you..." she looked at Brados, not purposly meaning to hurt anyone. "Just leave me alone..."

Raini stroked Al's fur softly, holding Olivia with her other arm. She had no idea what to do.

Conall held onto his baby sister, looking like he was about to cry. Didn't his mommy love him anymore?

"We'll leave you alone," he told her reluctantly. "But you have to let us look after your wounds and bring you food. Other than that, you can do as you like, as long as you don't hurt yourself..."

Olivia cried, trying to remember, but couldn't. "Mommy?" she asked, this woman said she was her mother, she didn't hive her any other name. "My body hurts..."


Sam nodded. "Thank you. Just let me try to remember... I can't.... remember."

Raini kissed to top of her head softly. "It's alright, sweetheart. We'll go get some medicine for you," she said, holding her as she stood and looked up worriedly at Kendal before she started to go get herbs.

Brados nodded and set her back down on the ground gently, spreading the herbs over the rest of her wounds and splinting her broken bones. "The dens were covered. I'll try to clear them. Conall, can you do something for me, buddy?" When the boy nodded, Brados looked at him. "Go around and tell everyone to clear the area so we can uncover our dens. We don't need anyone dying."

"Okay, Daddy," Conall said, wiping his wet eyes with the back of his sleeve. "That's my boy," Brados kissed his forehead.

Kale went running to her dad but stopped, seeing her mom. "Mommy...?"

Sam shook her head, looking away.

Kale looked at her dad. "What's wrong with Mommy?" she asked, scared.


Olivia clung to her mom, her face hid in her shoulder. Kendal got up quickly, following. He wasn't going to leave their side, not for a while.

Brados looked at his daughter sadly. "Mommy lost her memory," he told her gently. "She'll get them back, she just needs some time to remember..."

Raini reached the herbs she needed and picked them. "It won't take long," she murmured softly to Olivia. "I just have to mix these herbs and it'll make the pain go away."

"Do you want me to hold you, Olivia?" Kendal asked.

Olivia shook her head, clinging to her mom tighter. She didn't know him.

"It'll make it easier for you mom." he said.

Olivia, unsure and scared, looked at her mom for help.

kale shook her head. "Will she ever remember?"

Raini held her close. "It's up to you, sweetheart. Though I can promise you that he won't hurt you."

Brados kissed his little girl's forehead. "She will, sweetheart. I don't know when, but she will."

Olivia nodded, holding her arms to him. He grabbed her, holding her close.


Kale looked at her mom who was staring off into space. "Promise?"
