James got up, " I can help." he said hearing her father complain that he had a chapter to write but her mother declared he should mow the lawn. It seemed that her father wasn't those typical dads who lived and breathed manly outdoor work like mowing the lawn and washing cars, or fixing fences while listening to some country music or the football game on the radio as he worked. Maybe he had the American Dad alll wrong? Her Dad seemed more like a quiet man with a secret hidden knowlege and apparently knack for writing because he had seen a many of his books on the shelves of stores everywhere and even his mom read them.

Rose was surprised by James's offer to mow the law for them in Nicky's stead. Despite this general surprise she couldn't help but also be pleased. While she was in no way planning to work James's to do much more of the family chores, she was happy to see that he was a strong worker and that if something more were to blossom between him and Lila that at least he would not work Lila until the day she died.

" you don't have to James." Nicky shook his head.

" I know but you have work of your own and I can at lease mow the lawn . Afterall I need to work off that fantastic lunch. I feel so full" he laughed smiling. James was a very kind boy and cared alot about everyone around him. There wasn't a mean bone in his body.

Lila laughed softly and looked over at James with thoughful eyes. She knew that he was not solely doing this to impress her or her parents but she still couldn't help but be happy. Once her parents had finally been assauded to let James mow the lawn instead of her father she walked over to him and promised to have cold lemonade prepared for when he was finished.

Lila watched him leave and then went back to the dishes. She finished within ten minutes and then went over to the cabinet to take out a glass picture. She then proceeded to make lemonade, deciding for once to use actual lemons instead of just using the Minute Maid Mix that her family used most of the time. By the time he was finished mowing the lawn she would be done.

James started mowing the lawn. after a while he got hot and took off his shirt and continued to mow.

Lila fixed up a picture of lemonade and then walked out to the backyard. For once they were having a surprisingly warm winter. Of course it was March now and much of the snow had gone away for the rest of the year. "Hello, hunny." she said kindly, resting the picture of lemonade down on the patio table. "Are you almost finished?"

Lila chuckled and poured a glass for him, all the while ignoring the fact that he was shirtless and beatiful. And that not too long ago that beatifully sexy shirtless body had been in her body. Touching her. Breathing in, she looked at him with a soft blush on her cheeks. Why did he have to be so beautiful and cute? Taking in a breath, she poured a glass of lemonade for herself.

Lila laughed, "I hardly did anything, babe." she pointed out, taking a sip of lemonade from her glass. Placing down the glass she walked over to survey his work on the backyard. "Wow, looks great." she commented, looking back at James. "I think you deserve more than just lemonade." While she loved her father she knew that he wasn't too much of a handyman.

Lila shrugged her shoulders and looked over at him and smiled. "I don't know. What would you like?" She was trying to stay away from any other sexual situatons. While it had felt good when he touched her, she knew in the end it had been hard for him when he hadn't been able to find a sort of release. And they had both been embarassed when she had needed to give it to him manually. "I could make you dinner." she suggested. "Or I could take you to a movie?"

"Why don't you pick?" she asked him, offering him a gentle smile. "It's not fun if I pick your reward for you." Taking a seat on one of the patio chairs, she waited patiently for his answer. "I won't pick for you." Lila quickly added, just incase he was thinking about asking her to pick for him again. Lila was stubborn and was willing to wait for as long as it took.

He sighed as he thought. " We can go to the movies, I guess" he shrugged.

Lila chuckled seeing how much of a burden it seemed to be to James to have to pick what they were going to do. "Alright. I'll have to grab the newspaper to see what movies are playing and at what times." To be honest she didn't watch TV too much, though she had a great love for movies. "Maybe some action film is out. Or.." her face paled a bit. "A horror film."

"Well, what do you like?" Lila asked him, looking over at him thoughtfully. She was trying not to be busy and felt thankful that James had declined seeing a horror film. It wasn't so much that Lila was a coward, it was more of the fact that she had a vivid imagination and tended to get a little too into something most of the time. "Maybe a comedy? Or... a drama?" She didn't know most boys who liked drama films, but then James was different from a lot of boys.

Lila shrugged her shoulders. "I guess I'll go check the newspaper then." After scanning the newspaper she saw that there were two horror movies out (which she checked off the list of possibilities) as well as sexy comedy, bromance comedy, romantic comedy and dramedy. "Hmm..." she murmured softly, looking over the movies reviews.

Nothing looked very interesting to be honest. "Hey, James," Lila inquired, looking up to meet his gaze. "All of these movies look, well, like they really aren't gonna be worth forking out $10.50 for. How about we go to the beach for a bit? It's so warm now." The signs of spring were starting to show. Not to mention Lila loved any excuse to see the ocean waves washing against the shore. It was so picteresque.
