They sounded like a pretty normal family. It would certainly be nice to see one of those after sepnding eighteen years with a disfunctional one like her's. Celine nodded her head. "They sound like nice people." she murmured softly.

That was one thing that she wasn't sure about. Her own family didn't like her. What luck did she have that a family who did not even belong to her would like her? Celine's own family had branded her as unlikable and nasty.

Celine would find out soon enough just what kind of people the Vlad's were. Sighing softly to herself, she let herself lay contently in his arms for the next hour or so until they got up and drove off to his house.

Deren shut the car door and looked at the door to his house.

Celine was nervous, and she was sure he could hear the chattering of her teeth and the loud beating of her heart. However, this didn't make her turn around and make a run for it. She knew that this was important to Deren. He was obviously close to his family.

Kimberly had been unwinding from another particularly hard case. She had poured herself a small glass of wine, and was unwinding with a crossword puzzle, a particular obsession of her's. Hearing the dear open she looked up and smiled seeing Deren. Who she didn't know was the girl beside him. "Hello." she heard herself say. This must have been the girl who had gotten Deren all hot and bothered yesterday. She was very pretty.

"Hello." Celine said, back, shyly looking over at Kimberly. She looked like a strong business woman, and a Type A personality type of person. Little did she knew that Kimberly could cut back and be just as relaxed as the rest of her family.

" Mom, this is Celine. My girlfriend as of today" Deren chuckled gently. " Celine this is my Mother, Kimberly Vlad." he said that with a little pride in his voice. He was proud that Kim was his mother. " My sister and brother should be home soon. Dad.. well..I dunno where dad is." Deren said.

Damien had a teacher's meeting and wouldn't get home till a little after 5. Damien worked with his mom at the same school. But Damien was a music teacher.

"It's nice to meet you." Kimberly said, getting up from table in the kitchen. She had to hand it to her son, he did have a good taste. No tattoos (at least, no visible ones), piercings (aside from the ears), and no violent, vulgar way of talking. Celine seemed pretty nice.

Celine could hear the pride in Deren's voice. He was obviously really close to his mother. And Kimberly seemed like a really busy, important woman. It only made her feel a bit unimportant.

Celine could tell that Kimberly was a nice, lovely woman. However, she still could tell that Kimberly was looking her over for bad qualities such as tattoos and piercings in odd places. She felt thankful that her only tattoo was on her back.

"Oh, that's impressive." Kimberly said, smiling softly. Deren, of course, was the top of his class, a place that he had worked incredibly hard to get to. It was lucky of him to have found a girl who would understand how hard it would be to get to the top.

It wasn't really a judgemental gaze. Kimberly was simply curious, and she wanted to look over to see if whether or not this was a girl that Deren would be serious about. She couldn't help but worry whether or not Celine was a good person and the right girl for Deren. He'd only dated a girl right at this moment. She didn't want his heart to be broken.

Celine placed her hand very briefly against the small of her back. Not too long ago, once she had turned eighteen, she had gotten an angel wing tattoo against her back. Hopefully she would be able to prove herself before everyone- including Deren- saw it.

They wouldn't be doing anything that would make Deren see it hopefully. Deren wanted a serious relationship.

Sometimes she was embarassed about it. Honestly, it had been something that she had done as an impusle. Sort of her way of sticking it to her parents for always being so mean and judgemental to her.

"Oh, of course." Kimberly said, smiling softly. "It's your father's turn to cook tonight, though, so I'm not really sure what we'll be expecting." This wasn't to say that Damien wasn't a great cook. He was amazing!

Damien should have gone for cooking school with the way he worked. Damien had alot of dreams and one of them was to be a famous chef in Paris.

Damien also dreamed of being a rockstar. There were somethings in life that couldn't be followed out. "Would you like something to drink, Celine?" Kimberly asked, momentarily glancing down at her glass of wine. Deren was allowed to drink wine when he was at home, but she wasn't sure if Celine was into wine.

"Oh, sure." Celine said softly. She didn't dare ask for any wine. "Some water, please." she said quietly, looking down at her feet. She was still a little nervous.

Damien left a beer for Deren in the fridge. Deren was allowed to drink but in moderation.

Spencer came in " Whoah who's the chick?"

Chick? Celine blinked, and then looked over to Deren, in a way telling him to introduce her. She really didn't feel that she could just introduce herself. Not yet, anyway. She was still getting used to his mother.

" Hello." Spencer said as he went to his mom " Mom I ran into the car with my skateboard....again......" he said. His legs had gashes in them from running into the car.

"S-spencer!" Kimberly gasped. He always did this! After months of his begging, Kimberly had finally allowed him to build his in ramp to set up in the drive way. He was always getting hurt, and she was considering getting rid of the ramp. Sighing softly, she took his hand. "Come on.." she said, bringing him up stairs to the bathroom to clean him up.
