Finally a home~ Private

Lilli smiled and jumped up. She held her finger to her lips for jon to be quiet and she quickly opened the door. "Boo!" she said, smiling brightly. She was excited to see her grandpa, to try to make him happier.

Marley moaned in frustration. "Yeah... guess that's our que to stop."

Joshua grunted, nodding. "We'll just finish later..ok?" he suggested, pulling away and making himself decent and not obvious that they were doing the deed. He then got out of their room, closing the door so that Marley could get dressed. "Grampa's here!" Jonathan said excitedly as he jumped up and down. He sighed, smiling and opening the door. "Hey, Dad.." he said, seeing his old man looking like a car had hit him and then ran him over. Coming inside, Shawn picked up his two grandchildren carefully and kissed them both on the head. "My two little grandkids, how are ya..?"

Ilane hugged her grandpa, not letting go. "We're okay. How are you?" she asked softly.

Shawn chuckled lightly. "I'm hanging in there, sweetie. You?" he asked as he knew this must've hit them harder than him.

Joshua cleared his throat, looking around for Marley.

Marley came down in some pajamas and smiled slightly at Shawn as she wrapped her arms around Joshua. "We're okay." she said softly.

Ilane nodded, nuzzling her grandpa's neck.

Joshua smiled at his father, knowing what pain he must be going through. Shawn nodded, sniffing. He felt so dead inside..."Well, are you guys hungry?" he asked the family, grinning. "I'll make some pancakes."

Jonathan looked up at him with wide eyes. "Pancakes!"

Ilane smiled and nodded. "yeah." she said, but still held onto her grandpa.

"That's okay, Shawn," Marley said, her accent showing, she had no need to hide it with her family. "I can cook breakfast. Besides, I don't think Laney's letting you go."

Joshua and Shawn both left to the kitchen to get started on pancakes. "Well, Ilane, mind siting down while your dad and I fix you guys some pancakes?" he asked, smiling as he set her down while his son got the batter started.

Marley sighed, going to the kitchen also and helping.

Jonathan sat with Ilane at the table, watching the three adults help each other out. Joshua however leaned over to Marley and kissed her cheek. "You don't have to help, honey. It's fine with me and my dad." he said, knowing that she was a bit frustrated that they couldn't finish and was tired. She cried a lot. They all did. Shawn was then prepping the pan and soon started to make pancakes.

"Daddy?" Ilane asked softly. "What's a funeral? You guys have been talking around it and I don't know what it is."

Joshua sighed, looking at Ilane silently. "It's an event in which you go and say your final goodbyes to a loved one that passed on. Like your grandma.." he explained, smiling weakly. Shawn had almost stopped flipping over the one pancake that almost burned. Jonathan only nodded, understanding what his father explained.

"But, how can you say goodbye?" she asked, not completed understanding, and also not knowing that she was hurting her grandpa. "They're not alive anymore."

Joshua grunted quietly, knowing Shawn was going through agony. "Well, maybe your mom can explain it better. Marley?" he said, looking at her with his eyes. Jonathan blinked. "Um..isn't that uh..prop...proper?" he mumbled, trying to say the word correctly.

"It's uh... It's so the one saying the goodbye's feels better. It's so that you think they know you said good bye." She said softly.

Jonathan looked down a bit, still not understanding fully but getting the gist of it. "So...will grampa feel better?" he asked, looking at Shawn. Shawn bit his lip, chuckling. "It would, kid, it would." he said, his voice shuddering a bit. Joshua rubbed his dad's back, hugging him a bit as they finished the pancakes. "Ok guys, mommy will get you your plates and serve the pancakes, I gotta talk to grandpa here." he said as he got his father out of the kitchen before he let tears fall.

Marley wiped a tear away and then sighed, getting plates with pancakes for the kids then putting them on the table. She got syrup and butter, putting that on the table also. She kissed Jon's cheek softly and smiled. "Eat up guys."

Jonathan smiled, eating at his pancakes like a starving child.

Joshua had been holding his father, unable to keep his own tears to himself. "It was too much!" Shawn sobbed, shaking. "I know..but mom's ok now. She's probably wondering why you're crying like a baby...come on." he said, biting his lip as he hugged his dad tighter.

Marley really wanted to make sure the two men were okay, but knew how their ego's went. She wiped away another tear and smiled at her kids. "Is it good?" She asked.

Ilane nodded, smiling. "Yeah." She said. "Grandpa's a good cook." She had a little accent of her own. Some words came out sounding s much like her mom.

Jonathan nodded, smiling. "Yeah! He's good." he said, having no accent at all. He was around Joshua a lot, so the accent never really rubbed off on him.

Joshua soon came back after telling his father to rest in the guest room. He looked at Marley, smiling. He then hugged her, nuzzling her neck. "He'll be staying with us, just as planned." he whispered.

Marley nodded, kissing his cheek softly. "That kid's'll like that." she said softly.

"Where's Grandpa?" Ilane asked, looking at her dad.

"Grandpa's taking a nap, so be quiet, ok?" Joshua smiled, rubbing her head as he sat down and served himself some pancakes. "He's taking a nap this early? Wow." Jonathan giggled, thinking he was just really tired.

"Grandpa's old." Ilane said, smiling. "Old people sleep a lot."

Jonathan nodded, giggling as he ate more of the pancakes like his father. Joshua looked at Marley, smiling. "Sit down and eat, babe."

Marley nodded and moved to sit down, putting a pancake on her plate but not eating. She was sad and worried to eat.
