Me and Steph!

"I'm here." she said. she was laying on the grass looking at the stars. Her and Jack used to lay on grass and look up at the stars. That's when he'd get to cuddle with him, but wasn't expecting it anymore. She sat up and looked at him. "You ready?"

Jack knew she wouldn't have left, but he had to make sure. Seeing her lay on the grass brought him back to earlier days but he knew he couldn't dwell on the past now. "Alright, let's go.." he said, going to his truck and getting in before opening her door. Starting the vehicle, he coughed and started to pull out, driving to her house first. It was a silent ride.

"Thanks Jack." she said, sliding out of the car silently and going to her house. She walked slowly in case he wanted to stop her and tell her he loved her also, but, that was a far off dream.

Jack sighed, tempted to go after her. But this wasn't a movie or a fairy tale. There were consequences and possibly no happy endings. He watched as Lilli walked inside, making him bite his lip. He didn't feel that way for her! He sighed, rubbing his eyes and taking off. He needed to breathe.

Lilli went to her bed room silently and sat on her bed, hugging her knees to her chest and started to cry. That was the hardest thing she'd ever had to do in her life. Why couldn't she love some one else? Why him? Why make things like this?

But along the way, Jack stopped and looked at his cell phone. What now? He knew she must be regretting to loving him. He wasn't even trying to like her that way. But with the way they treated each other, it'd be hard to change that. He sighed, calling a girl who had given him her number a while back and scheduled a date, hoping it would help him out a bit.

Kaley, a girl from some of Jack's classes, picked up her phone. She didn't know the number so she didn't greet him like she would a normal friend. It was late, but she had gone to the football game and was thankfully awake. "Hello?" she asked into the phone.

Jack smiled weakly. "Hey, Kaley, remember me? Jack?" he asked, hoping she would. If he could just unfocus from Lilli, he could relax around her.

Kaley smiled and nodded. "Yeah!" She said happily.

Jack chuckled. "Hey uh, I was wondering if you wanted to go out next tuesday, like..for a movie?" he asked, coughing. He could pull this off. What were the odds of Lilli seeing him there with the chick?

Kaley smiled brightly though he couldn't see it. "Oh my gosh! I'd love to!" she said excitedly.

"Great. Then, uh, see ya at 8 there at the movie theater." Jack said, hanging up after saying goodbye and getting home. He then went into his room after taking a shower and laid in bed. He sighed, hearing his computer making beeping noises. His IM was left on when he went to the game. Could it be Lilli? He got up, going on the computer and checking.

It was Lilli. She didn't know why she was IMing him. She didn't even know if he was home or not.

Jack read some of the IMs. It was only like a "Hi" and "Are you there?". He sighed, hesitating to answer. He then started to type.

Hey..

Hesitating as he did, Lilli sighed and typed back.

sorry if i woke you

Jack sighed, shaking his head. Woke him? She pretty much rocked his world inside and out. He just couldn't figure whether it was a good or bad thing. He hesitantly typed back as well.

You didn't...I just got home. Went for a drive.

That's good she sent. She sighed, shaking her head. I should go. I'll see you later. she hesitated before signing out, waiting for him to send her something.

Daniel typed quickly. He didn't want her leaving yet. No, please don't I just wanna talk...before going to bed? They always did so. They'd even wave to each other from their window and then go to bed after logging off their messenger.

No, sorry. It's been a long night. Call me tomorrow or something. Love ya. Bye. She sent then logged off. But, she did go to her window, waving to him when he turned, then closed her curtains and turning off her light. She couldn't bare talk to him knowing that she had ruined things.

Daniel sighed, closing his eyes. He screwed up. Now she was afraid to talk to him because of his reaction. He dialed a number of one of his guy friends, seeing whether they sort of were interested in Lilli. She was gorgeous, but he just couldn't see her that way. They had been friends since they were in diapers practically. Discussing for a few minutes, he arrange for him to meet up with her at the theater, tomorrow, 'coincidentally'. Going to bed, he sighed, hoping this would work.

Lilli wasn't afraid, just disappointed. She just didn't want to be left again. She'd been through so many men and he was the only one who stayed. Maybe that was why she fell in love with him. Crawling into the bed, she cried herself to sleep.

The next day, he walked over to Lilli's knocking on the door. It was a saturday, around noon. Jack sighed, rubbing his face and trying to keep a straight one. "So..just take a deep breath, Jack. Come on, it's Lill..." he mumbled, shaking his head. He waited on her to come down.

((It's all good. I've got an essay to write, I'm doing it really slowly, trying to put it off. lol.))

Not knowing that it was Jack, Lilli went to answer the door in short shorts and a tank top. The shorts were were really short, showing off her legs and the shirt was pulled up a little, showing a bit of stomach. When she opened the dooor she gasped and almost shut it again, as a result though, she pulled her shirt down, turning red. "Hey Jack."

Jack blushed and coughed. Once she opened the door again, he had wide eyes. "Uh...I would've thought you'd be ready by now. Remember? M-Movie?" he asked, smiling weakly. Christ she had good legs.... "You don't wanna go?" he asked, hoping she wouldn't say no. His friend would be very displeased.

she groaned. "I slept in. I'm so sorry." She opened her door wider. "Come on, Come in, you know your way around." she smiled. "I'll get ready real fast." she said, running up stairs.
