She blinked, her eyebrows raised. Of course, there was a blush hidden there, too, but she ignored it. "It's your apartment, not mine," she pointed out. "Ultimately, it's your choice."

Matthew stood, walking to her and cupping her cheek with his hand to have her look at him straight in the eyes. "It may be my apartment, but it's your choice to stay or not. I can't do anything to you, you're..my mate. As much as you deny it, even without your drinking of my blood, you're practically mine." he said, his voice deep and without emotion.

She blinked up at him. "Then it doesn't make any sense for me to leave," she murmured quietly.

Matthew knew there was no argument to this. It was decided. Already by biting her he guaranteed to himself that she had to stay with him. "Then it's decided, you'll stay here with me.." he muttered, going back to his bed and lying down. "Well..any questions or anything?"

"Is there anything I need to do other than give you my blood," she asked, standing up and moving to the doorway to his bedroom.

"Just to stay safe during day time and when you work. Plus..work on your skills. You can't be attacked again.." Matthew warned, his eyes closing a bit. He knew already that the next night would prove distasteful. He needed to continue on with his own little investigation on the rogues.

She nodded. "I will. Thank you for letting me stay here," she told him quietly before shutting the door silently so he could get some sleep.

Matthew grunted, sighing and falling asleep once more. However, a man was already watching the apartment. Except it wasn't a vampire, but one who works for the rogues. "Heh, too easy....freaking bloodsuckers pay me too good to have to freakin sit here. I could just stake that idiot.." he mumbled, getting off the roof and into his own rented room.

She wandered around the apartment for a while, munching on some fruit and watching TV.

But as the day soon came on stronger, around noon, a knock was on the door. It was a friendly knock, too.

Jasmine blinked and looked through the peephole and went to go wake up Matthew quickly. "Matthew, there's someone at the door," she told him.

Matthew sighed, looking at her. "Make sure to look at his palms. They should have a sort of mark, one that looks like a blade dripping with blood. It seems the rogues change their helpers symbols every few years, this year, I'm not sure what it is. So be careful. I have a knife in the drawer here, so grab it and hide it inside your sleeve. Hurry up." he said, sitting up and deciding to stay awake just in case.

She nodded and hurried to get a knife, quietly, and answered the door. "Yes?"

The man smiled, wearing a long black coat with a black formal shirt and dark blue jeans. He didn't seem suspicious at all. "Hello, I was here to uh, welcome this guy to the apartment building. Usually after a few months, people are considered to officially live here so, I'm part of the commitee. I wanted to say hello and invite him to a small gathering, is he here?"

She blinked. "Oh, how nice of you," she smiled politely. "I think he might be asleep, though. Poor thing's exhausted," she smiled sheepishly.

"My name's Tristan, by the way. But uh, anyway. Just tell him about the gathering if you will. See ya." he said, smiling and walking off. Matthew however sensed an eerie air about the apartment as soon as he walked to Jasmine.

"I will, thank you. Goodnight," she closed the door behind him and jumped, seeing Matthew. She hadn't heard him coming. "I didn't get a look at his hands," she admitted. "But he said he wanted to invite you to a meeting or something."

Matthew blinked, then grunted. "Obviously I'm not going. I keep distance from humans." he muttered, looking away and sighing. "You can, see if you can figure anything from him. You have a good defense, so it's no problem, right?" he asked.

She nodded. "I'll be fine. He didn't tell me when or where, though," she furrowed her eyebrows.

Matthew scoffed. "Well then, don't go. We'll see if he comes back, that's only if he really is what he claims to be." he said, rubbing his eyes and sighing. How many times must he awaken? "Is there anything you have to do today?" he asked as he sat down on the couch.

"Work, but that's it," she said.

Matthew nodded again, glancing at her. "Just continue on with your regular routine then, trust no one." he warned once more. "Are you going soon then?"

She nodded. "I'll go in tomorrow morning. Maybe tell them I've been feeling bad or something," she shrugged.

"Fine. It's better for both of us. I have a feeling however that Tristan will be coming back, hopefully not soon." he muttered, shaking his head. "Wanna go out? Might as well use up some free time.." Matthew suggested, knowing he should get along with her more.

She looked at him curiously. "Who's Tristan," she asked. "Sure, where do you wanna go," she asked.
