Chad smiled and wrapped an arm over his daughter protectively. He hoped that she would understand the truth one day as he fell asleep.

About an hour or so later Jamie finished her homework and sat on the couch watching some random videos on youtube.

Chad still slept, holding Hope in his arms.

Jess had left to go to a frat party before a football game.

Soon she just laid on the couch staring at the ceiling, smiling to herself. Things seemed perfect, so perfect....her parents were wrong.

After a while, Chad woke up, yawning and smiled down at Hope in his arms. He laid there for a while, holding her while she slept. He was so happy - this all seemed unreal. He wasn't the type of guy who belonged here, yet here he was. He didn't deserve any of it, yet it was here, all of it.

Jamie went silently opened the door and snuck in, she realized she forgot her flash drive in her room and she couldn't very well not save her paper. She noticed Chad was awake and whispered "Did I wake you?"

Chad smiled lovingly at her. "No. I've been up for a few minutes," he whispered. "I still can't believe I'm a dad," he smiled lovingly down at Hope. "Seems so surreal..."

She nodded and whispered "It's hard to get used to at first, especially at such a young age. Didn't really make any friends when I moved away, I was pregnaunt with her and they all thought I was a....s-l-u-t." she said just in case someone was listening and pretending to be asleep. "But Jess, she became my friend, and we've been inseperatable since, she's her godmother of sorts...." she said gently sitting cross legged on her own bed.

He smiled and sat up, careful not to wake up Hope, and kissed her softly. "I'm sorry I wasn't there," he whispered softly. "If I could have done anything to change that, I would have. I would have tracked you down and stayed by your side, no matter what your parents said or threatened to do to me."

"Nooo..."she shook her head and burried it in his neck,"I couldn't imagine what you dad would do to you if he found out back then." she murmured nuzzling his neck. "I tried to be strong, and I was just strong enough." she said and wrapped her arms around him.

"Like he would have cared anyway," he murmured, holding her. "I'm proud of you, for being strong," he kissed her cheek. "So, so proud," he smiled softly at her.

She nodded gently and leaned into him a little "God I love you Chad..." she murmured trying not to cry.

He held her close, letting her lean on him. "I love you, too, angel," he murmured. "You have no idea how happy I am now that you're back."

She nodded kissing him deeply, she never wanted to leave him ever again.

He kissed her deeply back, holding her close and caressing her cheek lovingly.

Jamie smiled into the kiss running a hand through his hair, it was soft, she remembered how much she loved to run her hands through his hair.

He smiled and tucked some hair behind her ear, pulling her closer. God, he missed her.

She laid her head on his chest smiling to herself.

He smiled and stroked her hair, holding her close.

She loved this, just being able to be there with him without worrying about a thing for a few moments.

He smiled and kissed her forehead, rubbing her back gently.

She moaned quietly nuzzling into him happily.

He smiled and kissed the top of her head. "Did you get your homework done," he asked quietly.

"Yesh," she murmured quietly.

He stroked her hair and kissed her forehead. "How long was I out?"
