A few minutes later, his mom walked in the door with an armful of groceries. "Dante, I am home," she called in Italian.

"We are getting ready for dinner, Ma-ma," he called back to her in his native tongue.

"Will you teach me how to speak that?" Roman asked, smiling up at Dante.

Roman smiled and leaned over to kiss his cheek. "Thank you."

Once Jon noticed Dante's mother walk in with arms full of groceries, he stood, taking many of them out of her arms with a soft smile.

"that's spanish Jon." Aiden smiled at him.

"so?"

"So we're in Italy."

Dante laughed. "He says 'thank you', Ma-ma. But he is saying it in spanish," he told her in Italian.

His mother laughed. "You are so silly, Jon," she shook her head, setting the food down on the counter.

"She says you're silly," he translated for Jon, chuckling.

Jon looked a Dante for a moment before shaking his head. "Yeah... I can't say that."

He laughed. "She understands 'you're welcome' in English. She is still learning."

Jon nodded and left. "Hey, Rose. You need anything?" he asked, sitting next to Ren.
