She watched this quietly, surprised when he turned his back to her. Jenny felt a lump grow in her throat and sighed softly. "I'm sorry." she said quietly after a few minutes and then got back to her feet and walked back into the kitchen. For the remainer of the hour she busied herself with the soup (which she was rather proud of.) Once she was finished with the soup (and the small loaf of bread that she had also prepared) she looked for a tray which thankfully enough he had. "You might want to sit up." she warned him, walking into the living room with the tray balanced in her hands.

Danny sat up and yawned. " Thank you" he said gently. he took it and blew on it and took a sip. ' mmm its good"

She laughed and sat beside him. "I would hope that it tasted good, I did spend an hour on it." While she was still surprised by how he had pushed her away before she was starting to warm up again. Jenny would learn later that it would be impossible for her to stay angry at him for very long, if there were ever times at all where she was trully angry with him. "The bread is good too, though I'd still let it cool."

Danny only did that because he was tired and sore. He didn't mean to push her from him. He nodded his head as he ate the soup/.

She watched him quietly for a few more minutes before getting up and going into the kitchen. While she had been cooking she had also been able to string up a close line to let her dress and slip dry. Checking on them she found that they were still a bit damp. Between her mother still being upset with her for having dissappeared during the last half of her engagement party and the distance that Danny had showed her before she guessed that she would have to leave within an hour, though she was still worried about his arm.

Danny finished, " thanks that was great" he smiled charmingly at her/

As she walked back into the living room she was stopped by his smile and blushed softly. "You're welcome." Jenny replied, taking the tray from him. She retreated back to the kitchen and placed the tray down before leaning against the counter and sighing. It wasn't a good sign when a smile alone was enough to get your heart racing. She knew that she had a crush on him but she hadn't expected it to be so bad. Shaking her head she returned back to the living room and sat beside him.

" I'm sorry I don't have much here." he said gently. He didn't have alot.

"You're here." Jenny said softly, shrugging her shoulder. "And that is all that matters to me." Which was the truth. Glancing over at the clock at the wall she sighed softly knowing that eventually she would have to leave him. Though the cold air and the gloomy weather outside was making her feel really sleepy. Now that she had taken care of him for the most part there was nothing to busy herself with to keep her awake. Yawning, she rested her head on his shoulder.

" I'm going to be busy tomarrow, thursday, friday, and saturday" Danny said gently. He had to finish some business then on saturday he was going to the speak easy he ran with Luis.

She jotted this down mentally, though cringed everytime he mentioned another day that he was going to be busy. "Alright." she said softly after a few minutes. For the night few days she would probably be busy herself, still having so much to plan for the wedding. "But not on Sunday?" she asked softly. Perhaps she could meet him after she went to church. "Could I see you then?"

" Sure thing." he said yawning. " we got a huge shipment of german draft. I'm going to be busy with the shipment for a few days. Planning on selling it at my speak easy saturday."

"Could I go to the speak easy?" Despite accepting a couple of cigarettes from him and a flask of alcohol from him a few nights ago she really wasn't the partying kind of her that most girls her age (flappers) were. Really she stuck out like a sore thumb in that environment. But she didn't care if she could see him in the end. She closed her eyes and breathed in as she waited for him answer, enjoying the warmth of his body and the way that he smelled.

" Sure, " he said gently" Do you think you'll be allowed to come to it saturday" eh said.

Jenny found it ironic that he was asking her if she would have permission to go to a speak easy, seeing as how they were already illegal. "I'm sure I'll be able to sneak out for a little bit." While she did want to spend time with him, a speak easy really wasn't the ideal place. She would probably only stay for an hour, maybe two at the very most. With a tired little yawn, she snuggeled against his side and eventually gave in and let sleep take her.

He knew a speak easy was illegal but he was asking if she had free time on saturday. Not that she could come to the speak easy. He knew that would go over well with her parents and fiance. He smiled gently when he saw her asleep. He stroked her hair gently.

Jenny yawned softly in her sleep and leaned into him more when he began to stroke her hair. Despite everything she was worn out and couldn't help but take at least a few hours of sleep. She would be late home yet again and would probably get even more flack from her mother and perhaps even Reginald, but she still didn't regret coming to see Danny that afternoon.

Danny found it was sad that such a nice girl was being married off to a fucking pig in a wig. She deserved better than that. Danny wasn't that much so he didn't count but someone who was nice and had a nice stable life, safe and loved her.

Jenny ended up sleeping a lot later than she had originally planned. It was comfortable lying there besides Danny, her body enjoying the gentle warmth and the comfort. How could she have been expected to wake up and leave the comfort that she felt? It wasn't as if at home she could find the same thing. At home she was lonely and very unhappy. When she did get around to waking up, she groaned softly and sleepily looked over at the clock, her eyes still not focused.

" you're finally awake" he said gently. " you slept for a while" he said.

A soft blush crept on to her cheeks and she sighed. "I seem to keep falling asleep on you." she murmured, unable to look him in the eye. What could you really say about that other than sorry? "What time is it?" she asked, wiping at her eye and gasping when she saw the time on the clock. It was really late, nearly 9:00 and she really didn't feel comfortable with going home at the time.

" I think you should stay here for the night. Its dark out" he said shifting his arm.

She sighed and nodded her head. "I think that you're right." she mumbeled, though she wasn't sure what wrath she would have to suffer in the morning. Hopefully her mother wouldn't think that this was becomin a habit (although it really was in fact becoming a habit.) "Would it be too much to ask if I borrow one of your night shirts for the time being?" Jenny asked softly, looking up at him coyly.

" Sure" he got up and walked into his bedroom and pulled out a shirt for her.

Jenny thanked him quietly and then took the shirt from him. She was undressed and redressed with fifteen minutes, walking out slowly as she tied her hair up into a pony tail which succeeded in making her look even younger than she already was. "What are speak easies like?" she asked, sitting at the foot of the couch, moving his feet and resting them on her lap.
