It's a Love Story

"Ohh, did you bring your own stocking, Lilly," Cassie asked her. "If not, Gramma Rose can make you one," she smiled.

She shook her head. "No... I don't have a stocking."

Cassie smiled. "Gramma Rose will make you one with your name on it. She knits real pretty ones."

"I don't think she can do that in time for tomorrow."she said then looked at Mike. "Can she?"

"I dunno. Gramma knits pretty fast," he smiled.

She smiled, then frowned slightly. "I'll only take it if it doesn't cause her any inconvenience." she said.

"There are no inconveniences for Grandma Rose. According to her," Mike chuckled. "I'm sure she'd be more than glad to."

She smiled. "could you ask her for me?" she asked him.

"Of course," he smiled. "I'll ask when we go back inside."

She nodded and smiled. "Sounds good. I don't have a stocking. Never have."

Cassie gasped. "You never had a stocking!? What did Santa do with all the knick-knacks?"

"In little boxes." she answered.

"Oh... I guess that works..." she shrugged and twirled around, holding onto Lilli's finger still, smiling.

Lilli laughed, holding her hand out so Cassie wouldn't bump into her while twirling.

Mike smiled happily, watching them. He knew his sister liked pretty much everyone, but he could tell that she'd taken a special liking to Lilli.

Lilli laughed and let go of Mikes hand and took Cassie's hands, slowly spinning around in a circle with her.

Mike smiled, watching them.

Cassie laughed happily, spinning with her.

Lilli laughed, falling down onto the grass. Her shoulder screamed as she landed and she got white with pain, but she kept most of it off her face.

Mike bent down to help her up, looking at her worriedly. "Are you okay," he asked, being extremely careful of her shoulder. Cassie's eyes looked like they were filling with tears. "I'm sorry," she mumbled, feeling horrible and like it was her fault.

"Cas, it wasn't your fault," he told his little sister gently. "Don't cry," he said gently.

Lilli nodded and looked at Cassie, holding out her hand. "It's fine." she said, smiling.

"But you got hurt," she sat beside her and took her hand, a couple tears falling down her cheek.

Lilli leaned over and kissed her cheek, kissing the tear away. "It's alright. I just landed wrong. It doesn't hurt anymore."

"You sure," she asked with a sniffle.

She nodded. "I'm sure."

She hugged her carefully and helped her up, with Mike's help.
