A Werewolf's Heart Part 1.3

"Daddy's never been sad like this," Conall murmured.

Raini put her hand on his, shaking it gently. "Kendal, please.... Please, please, please wake up."

[Ohhhh. okay.]

Sam sighed. She was scared that he would notice. "There's nothing wrong with him." she said, hoping her lie was convincing.

Kendal didn't respond, he only fell further into the darkness, not able to do anything. He was dieing.

Conall looked up at his mom. "Will Daddy be okay, Mommy? Is there a herb for being sad," he asked.

Raini cried. "Kendal, please... I love you," she sobbed, squeezing his hand.

She smiled softly. "No, there isn't... But, I think a hug works." she said.

olivia sighed, snuggling into her mom. "Can I fall asleep?"

Conall nodded and went to his daddy, hugging him. Brados hugged his son close. "I love you, daddy," Conall said. Brados hugged him closer. "I love you, too, buddy.."

Raini nodded. "Yeah, sweetie... Go to sleep," she told her daughter, kissing the top of her head. She cried, looking back at Kendal, shaking his hand. "Kendal, I love you, please don't leave me," she sobbed.

Sam smiled at them. "Come on guys. We should go to bed." she said, standing up, holding Kale in her arms.

Al showed up once everyone was gone. "Hey baby." he said, his face loving.

Brados nodded and held Conall, walking with Sam back to their den.

Raini looked up at Al, knowing he had to have heard her say "I love you" to Kendal. She cried, seeing his expression. How could he look at her like that after she told Kendal that she loved him? She did still love Al - she always would, which is why she suddenly felt guilty for telling Kendal.

Al sat down behind Raini and wrapped his arms around her and Olivia, running the back of his hand across her sleeping daughters sleeping cheek. "she's beautiful. Just like her mommy." he said, not paying any mind to her saying she loved Kendal. He was happy for her.

She cried quietly, trying not to let any of her tears fall on Olivia's sleeping figure. "She would have loved you so much," she sniffled.

"She will." He promised, a mischievous look in his eyes that Olivia had inherited. He wiped a tear away and nuzzled her shoulder. "Baby, you love Kendal?" he asked. "Like, really love him, as much as you loved me?"

She blinked, confused at what he'd said. She forgot it as soon as he asked if she loved Kendal. She bit back more tears. "I do love him," she cried. "Not as much as I love you... Never as much as I love you."

"But enough to want him to stay?" he asked. His hand rubbed her arm lovingly and his other hand stayed on Olivia's cheek.

She nodded, crying. How horrible it was, having half your heart belong to your child, and the remaining half split between both of her daddies.

"Do you know he's dieing? He doesn't want to..." his voice was sad now. It hurt, even though he was dead to ask his mate if she loved another. "He loves you, as much as I do. I see you smiling for that first time in a long time and it makes me happy. Do you want me to bring him back?"

She looked up at him, torn. "How would you do that," she asked. She had no idea what she'd do if she lost Al to bring back Kendal.

"Give him my spirit. To give up my power to materialize like this and give it to him. I could turn into something else, something olivia would like. do you want me to bring him back?" he asked.

"Would you still be... you," she asked him quietly.

He nodded. "But in animal form. Something for Olivia." He said again.

She nodded and looked up at him. "Can you do that..? Kiss me first," she asked him.

"Gladly." he breathed and locked his lips with her, kissing her deeply, pouring his very soul into it.

She could have moaned. She would have turned around and pinned him to the ground, but that would have woken up Olivia. She kissed him back deeply, lovingly, wanting him to know how much she loved him without jostling their precious daughter.

Al had to pull away, his face a mix between loss and love. "I love you. I always have, I always will. Sleep my love." he said, standing up. Kendal will be awake by morning." He kissed her lips again, longingly. "Olivia will have a new pet too." Slowly, he began to fade.

"I love you," she whispered, wanting him to believe it. Needing him to believe it. "I'll always love you." Tears ran down her cheeks as she kissed him again, feeling like she was losing him, though she knew she'd see him again.

"You'll never loose me." He promised. He bent down and kissed his daughters cheek. She stired and opened her eyes. She smiled slightly at the man who was her father. He kissed her. "I love you both so much." he said, disappearing. Once al was gone, Kendal took a deep breath, pain free, though he didn't wake up. Olivia looked up at her mom. "Mommy, who was that man?" she asked.

Raini stroked her daughter's hair. "That was your other daddy, sweetie," she whispered. "He died before you were born.
