Finally a home~ Private

Joshua then came back hours later, his eyes blood shot from crying so much. His chest ached and he just felt like laying on the floor to wait for death or to black out. He saw what was left and especially of the impression on one of their pillows. "She's gone..." he mumbled, collapsing on the bed and staring at the pillow. He didn't dare touch it.

In the years to follow, Marley had gone home to England but didn't find it the place she remembered. The buildings were in disrepair and the people just as down as ever. Things were bad too. They were bombed many times a day and people often gave up and killed themselves. There were many homeless people and Marley couldn't take it anymore. She called Joshua's dad and he soon got her back into the U.S. Joshua wouldn't know as long as he didn't have to pick her up from the air port again. She still loved him with all her heart and she kept the picture of the two of them with her at all times. But she broke his heart, she knew she did and she was scared that he wouldn't love her anymore. She'd been through a lot since she went home and if he didn't love her anymore, she'd live with it.

During those years, Joshua had gotten a bachelor's degree as a pediatrician. He did like kids, obviously. Still, as that time went by, he only missed Marley even more. He did love her, despite that she hurt him but not as badly as he hurt her. After all, he decided that she would only get hurt if they got closer out of cowardice. He truly was the coward in the end. But he soon learned to put away those feelings and get on with life, just as he thought that his wife had as well. Unfortunately however, Elizabeth hadn't known that Joshua wasn't supposed to pick up Marley, so she sent him instead, not revealing who it was. She saw a different man in her son, someone unfamiliar. She thought that if they made up, or at least became friends, she might see that same boy she knew years ago. As Joshua drove, he sighed, looking around as he waited by the luggage pick up for the guest.

Marley got off the long plane ride and went to baggage claim. There, she froze. Joshua was standing there. She had a couple options, to run the oppisite way, to go around him and get her bag later or to confront him. Sighing, she went over to him. "Hey..." she said, her accent fully back. After spending a few years home, it came back.

Joshua froze also, seeing Marley from afar. There was no way that she could be missed. It's like he had a sixth sense when it came to his own wife. He gulped, nodding. "Hey....Had a nice flight?" he asked, looking over her and staring a bit. She had changed, just a little. But still, she was as gorgeous as ever.

"It was long." She said simply, letting her accent show through. It was thick and beautiful. "My bag's over there." she said, walking away and grabbing her bag. It wasn't that big. She didn't have much anymore. What wasn't seen though, was that she was still wearing her wedding ring. She never took it off.

Joshua nodded, following but still, he couldn't stop staring. It was like the first time they met all over again. Still, his heart didn't race as soon as his eyes set on her though, not like before. His wedding ring was put together with a silver chain, the ring being held by it. But it was hidden under his shirt, obviously not seen by Marley.

Marley bent over to grab her bag, showing a nice butt. She'd toned her body since she was last here. From being pregnant, her breasts were a little bigger and she'd lost the weight she'd gained. Her belly was flat and her hips were nice and rounded. She went back to him, her bag over her shoulder. "I think I'm going to your parents house. You dad said I could stay at their house until I could get an apartment of my own." she told him.

Joshua noticed this, gulping a bit to himself. She looked amazing, still, good body or not he would've still loved her as much as he did. Staring however, he hadn't noticed that she stood. He blushed, coughing and rubbing his face. "Agh, sorry. It's getting to be the winter and cold's coming in pretty early. Uh, let's get you home then..." he said, coughing and going out to his car, opening the passenger's side.

"Do you still have Max?" She asked, standing in front of the open door. "He was asleep... when I left... I never got to say goodbye to him." she said softly.

"Yeah, of course. I still got the poor old dog. Not that old but he's pretty big....I'm sure he'll jump you when you come and visit." Joshua mumbled, never really moving out of the apartment. Elizabeth had helped him make ends meet enough that he could work part time, then so he could get his degree and make good money. So far, he was exceptional. Getting into the car, he started it. "Come on in, it's getting a bit more cold.." he said, smiling.

She nodded, putting her bag in the back and then getting into the front. She rubbed her hands on her thighs and sighed, looking out the window. She really didn't know what to say to him so what to do around him anymore.

Joshua sighed as he drove to his parent's house. He owed them alot, but for this, he didn't know what to say or do. "So..how have you been?" he asked, trying to break the ice instead of staying and driving in awkward silence.

"I've been okay..." she said softly. She didn't want to tell him how hard it was or how she missed him when she slept. She really just wanted to see Elizabeth. She missed her as much as she missed Joshua.

Joshua nodded, clearing his throat again. "That's good....Uh, I got a bachelor's....I'm a pediatrician for children now." he mumbled, gripping the steering wheel as he drove. It would be three hours before they got home since the airport was out of town. A long three hours it would be for him.

she smiled. "That's great. I finished my schooling. I haven't really gotten a job yet. There wern't many back home. I'm hoping to find one here. Hopefully for Disney."

"Disney? What the heck did you study?" Joshua asked, laughing a bit. This was starting to relax him, laughing.

"I majored in Art and Animation." She said, smiling softly.

Joshua whistled. "I almost thought you'd go into something in the government, but Disney....That's a pretty good job you'd get since they are pretty much dominating almost every industry." he muttered, smiling. He was almost tempted to hold her hand, but he knew not to. The hours went by, they continued to discuss mostly their careers, how he planned to open his own office, but knew it would have to wait a while. Once arriving, he got out, grabbing her bag for her. "Ok, let's get inside." he said, smiling and going in after she had. Both Elizabeth and Shawn hugged Marley, tightly by the way. "Welcome home!" they both said happily.

She smiled happily, hugging both of them, Shawn longer. "thank you for getting me back... It was pretty back back home."

Shawn smiled as well, hanging onto Marley. "No problem sweetheart. I got your back always." he said, letting go and smiling at Joshua. "Well son, good job getting her here. Uh, so..hungry you two?" he asked, chuckling. Elizabeth mouthed "sorry" to Joshua though as he had glared (not seriously) at her mostly.

Marley nodded, taking her bag from Joshua, a small smile on her face. "I'm starving." she said to Shawn.

Joshua felt their hands touch slightly, making him shudder. It had been so long since he even felt her smooth skin. Staring as Marley left to the kitchen with his dad, he sighed. "I was so stupid to let her go..." he mumbled, closing his eyes for a moment. "Joshua, come on, I'm sure you're hungry as well." Elizabeth said, patting his back and noticing his pain.

Marley smiled, sitting at the counter. She wouldn't let it show how much she missed his touch. She didn't want her pain to show at all.
