Werewolves and Humans: Together in Spirit

"If you're sure," she said, watching after him curiously before glaring at the hunters, having half a mind to shoot both of them in the head with their own guns. She left them, heading back towards the edge of the forest to keep looking for footprints.

Fenrir could smell Sam leave and took advantage to take off his clothes and change into his large wolf form before stalking towards the hunters his mind set on the young murdred pup.

Sam froze, hearing the two hunters yelling at the top of their lungs for help. She knew it wasn't possible for the other rangers to reach them in such a short amount of time. Out of curiousity, she made her way back and blinked, seeing the wolf. Jeeze. He's everywhere, isn't he, she thought absently.

Fenrir snarled at sam then began his attack on the hunters. Since they were tied he would enjoy eating away at their throats.

Sam didn't try to stop him, she just stood there. "You're getting what you deserve," she told the hunters and turned her back on them as they begged her to come back. She had work to do.

Fenrir revealed in the taste of their blood as he ate away at their throat and faces loving the screams they made.

Sam continued walking around the border of the forest. By the time sunset came around, she didn't find anymore footprints. She set up her tent and started a small fire as the sun set, sitting down in front of it and relaxing.

Ferir finished the feed then moved to the river and began to clean his fur.

She sighed, wondering if the wolf would think she was part of what happened to the poor pup. He seemed to know, so far, that she'd been trying to help the animals. That this time, she was too late. She stared into the flames, silently mourning the skinned pup.

Fenrir silently growled as he made his way to the pups body.

Sam wiped her tears and tried to focus. She had to see if there were any more hunters before any more animals got hurt. She grabbed her flashlights and put out the fire, turning on one of the flashlights and continuing on her way, scanning the ground for footprints.

Fenrir found the pup and sniffed around it and howled mornfully. The pup had been wanting to play with the hunters, beause of the help the rangers had given he thought all humans were good.

Sam looked behind her sadly. "I'm sorry," she whispered to whoever had howled. "I'm gonna try to make sure it won't happen to anyone else," she promised and turned back to look for footprints.

Fenrir was blinded with sorrow and rage, he howled again and laid down to cry.

After a couple hours of looking, she found another pair of footprints. Ones that were fairly fresh. She followed them, being as quiet as she could, and fished out her nightvision goggles, turning off her flashlight. She let her eyes adjust for a minute before continuing on, keeping her translator on so the rangers could hear what was going on, though she couldn't hear what they were doing.

As she cautiously reached for her gun, she heard a nearby gunshot, that made her jump and shriek.

"Who's there," a man's voice called out, turning and pointing the gun directly at her, then his flashlight, which blinded her. Startled by her appearance with the goggles, he fired and hit her arm.

Fenrir heard the shots then roared and jumped up and charged towards where he heard the gun.

Sam fell back, holding her arm and wincing. As the adrenaline began rushing through her system, she was able to ignore the pain and pull out her gun. "Put your gun down," she demanded. "You're under arrest!"

It didn't take too long before Fenrir was near by. He stayed in the shadows watching peacefully.

"I'm not going to tell you again - put your gun down," Sam said and relaxed only a fraction as he did so. She stood back up and walked towards him. "Hands on your head." As he did so, she dug through his pockets like she had the other hunters and pulled out three more handguns.

Fenrir smirked his wolfly smirk then walked into the light and looked at the hunters.

Sam looked back when the wolf came into the light. Somehow, she wasn't surprised to see him. She went back to digging through the rest of his pockets and managed to ignore the pain from her arm as she tied him to a tree, then shown her flashlight around to see what he'd shot.

Fenrir watched carefully making sure the hunter didn't do anything, as a human he had to obey her laws, but as a wolf only the law of nature ruled.

He'd shot a deer. Sam sighed, wincing as the pain became more prominent in her arm. She reported what had happened and was told to stay there to wait for medical attention. Switching off the radio, she grumbled and began pacing. That was the second animal she'd been too late to save that night. Eventually, she sat down closer to the wolf than the man. "I'm sorry," she murmured to the wolf, too far away for the hunter to hear. "I was too late again..."

Fenrir decided the effort was worth it and he bagan to speak loud enough for the hunters to hear it.
"Hunters kill, evil men. No heart."

The man froze and looked towards Sam and the wolf. He could tell the voice wasn't human - there was too much growl in it.

Sam ignored the man. "I know... But I'd rather stop them before they hurt anyone, any animal, instead of after." She winced at her throbbing arm, wishing the pain would go away.
