She let herself relax, and enjoyed the rest of their bath. Once the water had gotten lukewarm, signalizing the end of their shower, she yawned softly and then got out, drying off. They couldn't goof off for the whole day. Her mother had already prepared the curricle for them so that they could go into town. Harry's debut into Society would be within a fortnight.

And no doubt her father was making up some wild story bout him being a great nephew of a duke in Russia. Harry did have russian in him but that was from his father's side and his father's family had been in service to her family for many years. Harry didn't know who his mother was. Some say his mother was a dutchess from France, though..that was never clarified by his father. His father never spoke of her.

Mary Anne yawned softly to herself as she put on her bathrobe and then towled off her hair. She didn't feel like getting dressed and going out into town, but she knew that she was already on thin ice with both her mother and father. God forbid anything bad befall her or Harry just because she was too lazy to go shopping.

Harry got out and got dressed in his casual none butler clothes.

He looked decent enough, but in Society's eye he would still easily be viewed as lowerclass. After an hour or so, they would have a whole new wardrobe for him. He would be wearing the most magnificent clothes and would be the most fashionable man about town.

Sad but true. Honestly, if she could have gotten away with it, she would have simply boughten him clothes that she knew he would be comfortable with. But she knew that her parents would throw a tissy. They had given her a small fortune to use to spend on getting him a fabulous wardrobe for the upcoming Season.

Harry began to wonder if fashionable maturnity dresses were comfortable.

Women of high status did not wear maternity gowns. She would be lucky if her servants decided against making her wear a corset. And that in itself was very much unlikely. A small sigh passed Mary Anne's lips and she couldn't help but rest her hand on her flat stomach which would soon be swollen with child.

They didn't want the baby to show. The most that they would do is let out a few of her gowns. But they would never stoop so low as to actually get her maternity gowns. It was already enough for them to have to let out her gowns. Of course this was her mother's opinion, not the maids who would sympathize with poor Mary Anne.

Harry wouldn't stand for that. H ewould get her maternity dresses for when they were not in public's eye at least.

Materinity gowns were not fashionable. Her mother would be furious, but there wouldn't be any reasons for her to not let Mary Anne wair maternity gowns when she was away from the public eye. She would still be upset about it, though.

Once they had finished dressing and walking out the curricle, she smiled at him and then got in. The trip to the Ton wouldn't be more than forty or so minutes. They were pretty close, especially considering that they were currently staying at a summer house.

As they driven to the town, she had to ask him a few questions before they arrived at the seamstresses. What sort of colors did her prefer, did he know his measurements, and what sort of fabirs did he prefer. Knowing these things beforehand tended to make shopping go by a little quicker.

Harry had no clue. He was given hand-me-downs from the time of his birth.

If he didn't have any answers for her, then clothes shopping would take an atrociously long period of time. All of the measuring and then looking over all of the clothes by both fabric and color. Something that neither of them would enjoy.

"Then this is going to take longer than I thought." she murmured softly. It wasn't that she wouldn't enjoy the time that she would be spending with Harry. She just wasn't sure if he would enjoy all of the clothes shopping. They would be buying more clothes than he had owned in a lifetime.

Before she could answer, the carriage had stopped. Mary Anne, confused, looked out the window. They were still quite a distance from the town. "What's going on?" she asked softly, only to see the door swung open by none other than a highway robber.

Harry had been trained to deal with robbers within the house. This was no different. Harry pulled out a pistol " I recommend you close th is door and be on your way gentlemen."

"I dun think so, ya git." the highway man said, revealing a pistol of his own. He grabbed for Mary Anne, and pulled her to him by the shoulder. "Now give me your money or I kill her." he said, pressing the gun to her head.

Mary Anne was mute as she was pulled to the highway man, frightened at the site of the pistol. Feeling the cool medal pressed against her head, she felt the odd sensation of her heart stopping, and then starting to beat extremly fast.
