| Antionette had been looking over at their stables admiringly when he had asked her if whether or not she regretted accepting his proposal and marrying him. "Regret?" she asked quietly, as if she wasn't even able to fathom his question. "How could I regret marrying you when you have given me such an inquenchable happiness, and such unending love?" she asked, her eyes looking deeply into his. |

| "Heh, because of my parents cutting off my inheritance due to this marriage. Then again, I'm the only heir to their line....Still, you don't regret anything at all?" Richard asked, smiling weakly and holding Antionette's hand as he held Autumn with his arm instead. | |

| "Under that circumstace, it is I who should be asking you if you regret marrying me. I was but a farmer's daughter, and you made me your bride. It is because of me that you're parents have brushed you aside." Antionette said, her voice soft. She had no reason to regret being married to Richard. |

| "Heh, you were more than just a farmer's daughter. You're were an angel, and still are." Richard said, smiling and looking over Antionette with a shine in his eyes. He still felt that passion he had for her years ago and always will. Autumn soon started whining. "Aw, guess she's had enough?" | |

| Antionette chuckled softly. It wasn't hard to see that the poor girl was tuckered out and distressed. "Yes," she agreed, nodding her head. "She should have her dinner, and then be put down for the night." There was nothing further beyond that. It wasn't long before they returned to the manner and proceeded to have their daughter fed, bathed and then put to bed. |

| Richard nodded, going back inside. Once Autumn was put to rest, both parents could relax and have dinner. Sitting at the table with lukewarm food, he smiled at Antionette. They seemed to have the perfect life. Nothing was wrong, at least not until their daughter would grow up a bit more. Every child acts out differently. | |

| Antionette didn't mind the lukewarm food too much. Of course it didn't compare to a hot meal, but with a child, one couldn't expect things to be perfect all of the time. Autumn was her number one priority, which obviously meant that if she needed something, Antionette would be tending to her before she sat down to eat her dinner. |

| Richard looked up at Antionette, smiling and going back to his food. When being a parent, you must give up some things. After all, in their time period, it was all about making yourself survive along with your children. Many never really went past the age of maybe twelve if not properly taken care of. | |

| It was just the beginning of the nineteenth century, and medicine had only come by so far. Only recently in the community had a newborn babe died of Scarlett Fever. Antionette would be in complete dissaray if she were to lose their precious daughter. She was their life as well as their sweetest accomplishment. |

| That is what he most feared: disease. Imagine, his wife or his daughter getting sick from Scarlet Fever or any other scary sicknesses out there. It was terrifying. He gulped loudly from his cup, his hand shaking a bit. If only death excused the children and women, but obviously that would go against nature. | |

| Death was a natural concept of life that could not be discredited or overlooked. While it was depressing to think about, it gave people reason to life live to the fullest. By knowing that time could go by so quickly, and that it stopped for no one, it was enough to make anyone rise up and live. |

| A huge sigh came from Richard's lips as he reminded himself of his injury to his arm. Would he have an infection later in life? Would his arm cease to function or function half of it's capacity? He truly didn't want to think of it. "Antionette, after dinner, I'd like to talk to you about something..." he said, meaning he wanted to talk about a will. He had to make sure it wouldn't be tampered with after his death, if it was near. | |

| Death was far from the both of them. Antionette was sure of it, and would have been wiling to have bet all of her treasured wordly possessions on it. Brushing some ebony hair from her eyes, she looked up and nodded her head. "Okay, my Darling." she said, smiling softly. "As you wish." |

| "Thank you, darling." he said, smiling and finishing his dinner. After the both of them were done, he stood and took her to his study, closing the door. "Love, I was thinking of making a will....Two copies which one you would keep and another I would give to our accountant. I mean, I've heard one too many stories of the children or heirs being tricked of their deserved belongings.." he said, coughing. He knew Antionette wouldn't like it. | |

| Antionette was very much against lingering in the past and sprinting towards the future. Honestly, people were not given a long enough ammount of time on Earth. With this knowledge, Antionette felt like people should simply live in the now, and enjoy life right at that moment. "I see." she said softly, her voice slightly stiff. Talking about death and sickness was depressing to her, though she knew it couldn't be avoided. |

| "I've yet to make a will, but I just want to make sure my parents don't try to swindle you both out of what you deserve of me." Richard said, pulling her to him and hugging her tenderly. "I'm sorry to speak of this, I just wanted to let you know..." he mumbled, knowing she didn't like speaking of death especially when she was so close to it when kidnapped. | |

| Antionette knew better than to point out that his parents were closer to death than he was. She simply nodded her head. It was best to just acknowledge the situation at hand. He was, after all, doing it for both her's and Autumn's benefit. "Of course," she murmured. "I understand." |

| "Let's leave this for later....The baby is asleep, right?" Richard asked, chuckling and nuzzling her neck. It had been long since they both even thought of that certain subject. "It's been long..hasn't it?" he mumbled, bringing her closer to him. | |

| Antionette nodded her head, her throat too dry for her to talk. They really had gone through a lot together. She was convinced that love was just that. Still sticking together even when she had been forced to go through the absolute worse. And they had certainly done that. |

| "Love, what's wrong?" Richard asked, seeing that she could hardly talk. "Did I do something wrong?" he asked again, worried. Had his mention of death really shake her? It had been a few years since then, if not just two really. "I'm sorry for mentioning this.." he mumbled, hugging her once more. | |

| "No." Antionette said softly, shaking her head. Really, there was no reason for her to act so sheltered. She was no child, and she had already gone through a horrifying event in time. Placing her head on his shoulder, she explained to him that she was just quiet because she had a lot on her mind at the moment. |

| "What's on your mind?" Richard asked, caressing his wife's head. All because of his big mouth and always wanting to be prepared for the future. He sighed, shaking his head. "Forget I mentioned a will." he mumbled quietly, kissing her cheek. | |

| "You have no reason for feeling guilty about it. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be prepared for the future and whatever may come." she reasoned, sighing a bit as she said it. Honestly, that was the truth. Yes, she was worried about him writing up a Will as if something were about to happen, but then, she would be lying if she said she did not understand why he was doing it. |

| "I know....Still, you don't need to be hearing about death at a time like this." Richard muttered, staring back at his wife. Death was a strong word, enough to put fear into the strongest of men. "Are you tired?" he asked, opening the door and about to call on a maid to start a bath for her. | |

| It had been a rather long day. "I suppose I am." she answered wearily, pressing a hand to her forehead. A nice hot bath and hot meal would do her wonders. Walking over to the door, she watched as a maid was called upon to prepare her a hot bath. The sky was starting to turn an orange color, and soon nightfall would come. |
