It's a Love Story

"Picklemilk. You've never heard that," he asked, looking at her. "I guess not... it's like... What's that word... Nonsense." he told her.

"I've never heard that before." she said, still giggling to herself.

He chuckled. "I'm glad I amuse you," he teased.

"Oh, you're all sorts of funny." she chuckled, looking at him. "But yeah... I've no idea where this hotel is."

He thought a minute. "You don't ask for directions?"

"I could." she shrugged.

"It'd save on gas," he pointed out politely.

She looked at him with a small smirk. "So it would." she said, pulling over. "Why don't you do the honors."

"As long as you ain't gonna drive off," he chuckled. He got out and approached an older man. "'Scuse me, sir," he tilted his hat politely. "Do you know how to get to the drury inn by the convention center? I got myself lost," he smiled sheepishly.

Lilli laughed to herself as Mike talked to the man. The New Yorker didn't know what he was talking about but gave the best directions he knew.

"thank you kindly," Mike smiled at the older man and offered him another tip of his hat before he went back to Lilli's car and relayed the directions he'd given the young country boy.

"That's the oppisite way we came." she smiled. "But alright." She said, not telling him that she though he was sexy when he tilted his hat to people.

"Well, that's what he said," he chuckled.

"I have GPS on my phone if you want to call your cousin and get the address." she said, handing him her phone.

"What's a GPS," he asked, looking at the phone with a confused look. They didn't have fancy stuff like that out in the country. All the roads were strait and formed grids around the fields. No need for directions.

"It's a thing that gives you directions." she said, looking at him.

"Like a map," he asked. Why not just call it a map. That was silly.

"Yeah, like a map, but better." She shrugged.

He looked at her curiously but typed in the address and relayed the directions.

"You've never heard of GPS before?" she asked.

"Nope," he shook his head. "We look things up on old-fashioned maps," he smiled.

"Maps off of a computer?" she asked with a smile.

"Nope. Maps printed on paper. Big ones that you folded up," he told her, chuckling.

"That's ancient!" she smiled, laughing.

"It works well enough," he chuckled. "But if it's for somethin' like New York, then I'd use the computer."
