"Thank you. What did you come to me for," he asked her. He hadn't looked at her, he had his back to her. He would not choose Ashley.

She sighed. "I was hoping that you and I could fix this." she said soflty

"You could have come to me at any moment within the last month. Why today to do you choose to come to me," he asked, frowning.

"Because I realized that I wanted you and I was being selfish." She said.

"I don't think you want me, Ashley," he said, finally turning to her. He was expressionless. "I think you want power. The only power the duchess has is that she is the queen of socialites, the most fashionable woman in the city. That's what you want. You're not satisfied with the high status you already have, you want to be the queen of fashion. You aren't concerned about me at all."

Ashley looked hurt though she really wasn't. "That was hurtful Andrew... I've really come to care for you."

"I couldn't really care less," he said, brushing past her to go check on the ballroom.

Ashley sighed, going back to herself. "She's been cheating on you." She said as he walked into the hallway.

"As I've heard," he replied, seeming like he didn't care or didn't believe her.

"I hear she looks like she's baring child. Are you sure it's yours?" she asked, walking towards him.

"I am," he replied, speaking in the same tone as he inspected the decorations, making sure everything looked the best it could.

"I hope you're right. but just so you know, I look better at your side than she does." she said, leaving him.

"A classic Ashley remark," he muttered, sighing.

Amy walked with Abby to the palace, blown away at all the expensive things. She suddenly felt like her hands were really dirty and didn't want to touch anything.

"Just stay by me," Abby chuckled at her adopted sister.

Amy smiled, nodding. "Kay..."

Andrew went to the front door and welcomed the girls into the ballroom. There was plenty of delicious food, drinks, and beautiful music.

"What do I do when I see him?" Amy asked.

"Look beautiful," Abby giggled. "Just smile and look pretty. He'll come to you."

she nodded, looking around at the drapes and the wonderful things to eat. They all looked so pretty.

Andrew was stuck dancing with several women before he even laid eyes on Amy.

Amy had been watching him, understanding that he had duties and must dance with at least everyone.

Once Andrew finally laid eyes on her, all he could do was stare. She looked beautiful - Abigail had outdone herself with this dress, he thought. Finally, he moved, walking to his love. He reached her and smiled. "Who be the lovely maiden who stands before me?"

Amy curtsied, like she was suppose to do. "Amy, your Grace. Come to answer a call for love."

"It seems you are in luck, Miss Amy," Andrew smiled. "For I fear that I've fallen for an angel. You might be able to help me."
