The dog nodded, going to lay on the bed, placing his head on her shoulder.

Damon went to the containment room to find out what his mate was doing, to make sure their son couldn't break free and attack her.

Baily was just sitting there, on the other side of the glass, watching her son. "He'll come back, he just has to remember who he is." She said softly.

"He will, love," Damon told her softly, wrapping his arms around her. "He didn't attack Lilli's mind. It's a good sign."

She nodded, leaning against her mate. "He was trying to figure things out. She calms him."

"Maybe she can help him come back faster that way," Damon thought aloud softly. "If she can handle the strain. Her human body hasn't taken in any Breed blood. I'm not sure if her body can handle it at this point."

"It can't. He can't be in her mind for that long, he can cause some damage." She said.

"We can't bleed him to feed her. It might put him deeper into bloodlust and she would need him like you need me when you feed. Could you act as a filter between his mind and hers? Or would that exhaust you, love?"

"He wants her. If I block him from her he might not come back. I will monitor and make sure things don't get to hard for her.

He nodded. "If it gets too exhausting, there is an old friend of mine who has the ability to take pain away by touching another. He may be able to help it if it is too much. Even Niko might be able to help. Or Olivia," he said, looking down at her.

Baily nodded. "We'll see how things go."

Damon nodded.

Ryder groaned, waking up from his sedatives. He didn't recognize where he was. He could barely lift his head as he looked around. Everything was white, he was chained to a wall. He immediately panicked and searched for Lilli's mind and his mother's. "Lilli! Mom! Are you alright," he asked them, the two most important women in his life. The ones he was most protective of. He sounded much more like himself, if only a little drugged.

Baily soon walked into the room, her hair longer than last Ryder saw it. It had been six months. "Are you back with us?" she asked him.

Ryder blinked, confused as to why her hair was longer. And why she'd asked such a strange question. "Back...? What do you mean...?"

"You were lost in a blood lust. You attacked Lilli, scared her to where she hasn't been the same the last six months." she said softly.

His face fell and his heart sank. He'd attacked Lilli...? He was speechless, hanging his head and staring at the ground. Guilt overwhelmed him, making him want to crawl in a hole and die of starvation.

Baily smiled and went to her son. "You're back." she said, hugging him though he was still chained. "I'll go get your father." she said quickly leaving.

Lilli... Are you alright, he asked her mentally, almost afraid to talk to her in case she was afraid of him still.

I don't know. she told him. Are you back?

I am... I'm not thirsty anymore. My fangs are receded and my eyes aren't glowing. I'm so sorry I hurt you, Lilli. I wasn't aware of what I was doing. I'm so sorry, he rattled off every apology he could muster, his heart sinking lower and lower, his eyes prickling with the threat of tears.

I'm so sorry, he whispered in her mind, making his voice barely audible. He was feeling more horrible by the minute.

I helped you through this. she whispered back. I wouldn't let them give you someone elses blood. What does that mean?
