"Sure," he smiled and offered his hand. "Let's get you in warm, dry clothes first," he chuckled.

She nodded. "Well, yeah. I'd like that."

He chuckled and walked her to her room. "I'll go get Jedi out of the pool," he chuckled and left. "Come on, boy," Ryder told the wolf-dog when he opened the door to the pool area.

Jedi was laying on a bunch of towels, he lifted his head and looked at Ryder then laid his head back down.

"What's the matter, boy," he asked, walking over to the dog. He stroked his head, worried about him. "You feeling okay?"

he sighed, moving a bit closer to Ryder.

Ryder frowned and tried to reach into the dog's mind to figure out what was wrong. Was he overheated or dehydrated?

He was upset that he wasn't able to help Lilli the way Ryder had.

"It's alright, Jedi," Ryder stroked his fur gently. "Lilli's asking for you. C'mon boy," he told the dog gently.

At that, the dog got up, waiting for Ryder to lead the way.

Ryder chuckled and walked out into the hall, holding the door open for the dog and walked towards Lilli's room. "Look who came to see you, Lilli," he called through the door.

Lilli was pulling on a sweater and she looked over at Jedi. "Hey!" she smiled, kneeling down and hugging her dog.

Ryder smiled. "Let me go get dressed and we'll head to the library," he told her, leaving her so she could have a few minutes alone with her dog. He got dressed and got all his weapons together so they could play just a few minutes longer. "All ready," he smiled, his combat gear on already.

She looked up at him and couldn't help but think that he was incredibly sexy and she got hot in all he right places. She blushed and looked down at her dog. "Good, let's go play."

He tilted his head curiously, wondering why she blushed. He looked down at himself, making sure he had zipped up his pants. He had, none of his skin was showing except for his head and hands. Why did she blush? He shrugged it off and lead her to the library and got a deck of cards out of the drawer. "What game do you want to play," he asked, smiling at her as she began shuffling the cards.

"You pick." she said, sitting down in front of him as Jedi jumped onto the sofa.

"How about blackjack," he smiled.

She smiled, nodding. "I'd like that."

He smiled and dealt the cards, even a hand for Jedi so he'd be included. He put the dog's cards on the glass part of the table so he could look under and see them.

The wolf looked, then snorted, walking away. Lilli chuckled. "He doesn't like card games."

He laughed. "Or maybe I delt him a bad hand. Oh well. Sorry, boy."

He snorted again, turning in circles on the floor before laying down, facing lilli so nothing would happen to her.

Ryder had a blast playing cards with Lilli. His dad came in an hour and a half later. "Ryder, ready to go?"

Ryder checked his watch and sighed. "Yeah. Just gotta pull my weapons on," he told his dad, who nodded and left. "I'll be back before sunrise," he told Lilli. "I'm leavin' you in charge, Jedi," he winked to the dog before he walked out to get his weapons.

"Wait." Lilli got up and grabbed Ryder's hand. "Be careful." she told him, her look worried.

Ryder looked down at her and smiled. "I will be, don't worry. I use my mind to fight for the most part," he told her reassuringly. "Besides, Gideon will be over the headset to tell me if he sees anything or finds out anything."
