Holly and I Only!!!

"Ryder almost bit Lilli." she said, crawling back into the bed. "And he's beating himself up over it."

He nodded and took his mate into his arms, cuddling her. "He'll be okay."

Ryder came back soon and went to apologize again to Lilli. He easily was able to hide the cut on the back of his shoulder. He just couldn't turn his back to her.

Lilli was sitting in the library again with the same book in her lap. She was almost done with it. When she saw Ryder she stood. "Don't say you're sorry because I've already forgiven you." she told him before he could speak.

He had his mouth open to apologize and chuckled before he could. "I can still be sorry, can't I? I am. Does Jedi forgive me," he asked, looking at the dog.

"He was asleep." She shrugged.

He chuckled. "Let me go change. I'll be back," he said and left, making sure she wouldn't see his injured shoulder. He took a shower and cleaned up, bandaging his shoulder with his good arm before he pulled his shirt on and went back to the library.

Lilli nodded and simply went back to reading her book.

"What are you reading," he asked, sitting down next to her and scratching behind Jedi's ears.

"I'm finishing the book I started yesterday." She told him.

He smiled and nodded, letting her finish her book while he relaxed on the couch and enjoyed her scent without becoming hungry from it.

After a while she looked over at him. "Do I really smell good?" She asked.

He blinked and looked at her. He blushed, wondering what he had said in his sleep. "You do," he confirmed. "Like honey and rain."

She blushed slightly also, not wanting to admit that the feel of his lips on her skin felt good. She smiled. "Thank you."

"Did I say anything else," he asked softly, wondering what he'd said. He didn't want to read her mind and invade her privacy.

She shook her head. "Just that I smelled good."

He nodded, relieved he hadn't made too big of a fool of himself. "Did you sleep well before that?"

She nodded. "I did. But I feel bad for making you sleep in the chair."

"It's alright," he smiled.

"No it's not... It can't be comfortable."

"It is, though," he smiled reassuringly at her. "Much better than the floor."

"When did you sleep on the floor?" she asked with a frown.

"when I was little. I used to get scared and have nightmares some nights. I'd sleep outside my parents room until my mom sensed I was there and picked me up to bring me to bed with them."

"Why didn't you just crawl in bed with them?" she asked.

"If their door was closed, they wanted alone time. Otherwise, I'd just crawl in bed with them."

She nodded. "Ohh. Well, why don't you sleep in the bed with me?" She asked, blushing.
