It's a Love Story

"YAY!!!" Sami smiled, getting up and hugging her uncle.

"I don't know how you got her to come to this small town, Mike," George chuckled. "But that's sure to set off Rosie's career."

"Roman's too," Rose smiled. "She's gonna write me a song that I'll debut at the concert," she smiled at her sister, winking at her.

Roman smiled. "It's about Ren, actually." she said, looking at Ren.

Ren blushed. "A-About me?"

"Have you finished the song, Rome," Mike asked his youngest. "Maybe we can practice right here."

She nodded. "I do." she said, going throug her note book, the one she carried around all the time, just like how Jon carried his sketch pad. She handed the song to her dad and told him and Rose how she invisioned it the meledy for the words and the music in the background.

Rose easily got into the tune and feeling of the song and sang away while Mike, with a similar gift of his daughter's, played the guitar softly in the background, singing along in the chorus to add more depth to the song.

The lyrics and feel of the song brought tears to Ren's eyes. She was overwhelmed - happy, elated, loved. All the feelings she'd never dream of feeling with her parents. She couldn't believe this family had so easily let her in and welcomed her with open arms and open hearts. All she could do was cry. "Thank you," she said through her tears. "It's beautiful."

"Aw, Ren," Rose hugged her. Everyone hugged her.

Jon smiled,kissing her cheek once everyone had let her go. He grabbed a napkin and wiped away her tears. "There's no need to cry." he whispered.

"They're happy tears," she whispered back, sniffling as her tears were wiped away.

"We'll have none of those." he smiled, holding her close.

Ren relaxed in his arms, happy as could be. "You sound like your mom," she giggled.

He smiled. "Well, she my mom." he chuckled.

"You should sing it with me, Rome," Rose smiled.

Roman shook her head, lifting it from Pavo's shoulder. "No way. I'll only make you sound bad and humiliate myself."

"then what are you gonna do on stage? Hold up big signs with the words to the songs? No, you're gonna sing like everyone else," Rose said with a nod.

Roman sighed and nodded, resting her forehead on Pavo's shoulder.

Lilli smiled and took Mike's had when she saw him tence up at their youngest's reaction toward the exchange student.

Pavo smiled down at Roman, resting his cheek in her hair gently. "Are you having fun," he asked her softly.

Mike squeezed Lilli's hand gently, not liking how familiar the older boy was acting with his baby.

She nodded slightly. "A blast. Are you having fun?"

Lilli pulled on his hand and shook her head. "Loosen up." she whispered.

Pavo smiled and nodded. "I am. Your family knows how to have a good time."

Mike grumbled, pouting as he looked at his wife.

Roman smiled. "You should see us when we actually have something to celebrate."

Lilli smiled more and got up, moving to sit in her husbands lap. They may be been aproching 40, but she still loved him as much as she did when she was 18 and pregnant with Rosie. She kissed his lips softly and ran her fingers through his hair to disract him. "She's growing up...." she whispered to her husband.

Pavo chuckled.

Mike was distracted. "You're horrible," he mumbled, torn between glaring at the italian and kissing his wife.

"How long are you going to be in the U.S.?" she asked, both curious and concerned for how long she had with him.

Lilli smilply smiled and shrugged. "So? You still love me."

"At least for this school year. I will go back home for the summer. I will come back and bring my mother. She will like it here."

Mike chuckled. "God knows I do," he kissed her.

She nodded. "sounds good." she smiled, hiding a yawn behind her hand.

Jon had lowered his head to Ren's shoulder and was drifting off. He was half hoping that Ren's horse would get here before to long so he could sleep.

Ren cuddled close to Jon, shivering. It was chilly outside and she was starting to not feel too good.

Mike pulled out his cell phone as it started ringing and answered it. "Alright, be right there," he smiled and hung up. "I'll be right back," he said, getting up and walking towards the front yard. He came back soon with a baby horse that was a beautiful ginger color. "Meet the newest member of the family," he smiled. "Ren, I'd like you to have her," he told her.

"M-M-Me!?" She was flabbergasted. She was getting a horse!?

Jon smiled, standing up and helping Ren up. "This is the reason I was making sure that you liked horses this afternoon." he smiled.

Sami got a little upset. Well, more than a little. "Why does she get the baby horsey? She hasn't been here as long as I have! Mommy! It isn't fair!!!" she yelled, throwing a temper tantrum.
