| When Belle opened the door, she happily hugged her father. He seemed just as surprised, and happy, to see her. "What brings you here, Belle?" he asked her, not that he was complaining. "I didn't expect you here at all. Is there a special occasion."
Belle chuckled. "Yes. Your grandson wanted to see you."
This caused Maurice to gasp. "Beau? I-is he here?" he loved seeing his grandson. |

| Adam couldn't hold back the poor boy any longer and let him run into the house. " Grand-pere!" he said rushing to hug him. He was the only grandparent Beau had. | |

| "Beau!" Maurice cried happily, hugging his grandson. "You get so big everytime I see you!" he remarked, laughing softly. Maurice himself was not a tall man, his own daughter who stood at five foot, three inches being taller than him. Beau at the age of twelve was already at least an inch taller. |

| Beau hugged him. " Mom says I'm gonna be as tall as dad is." Beau smiled.
Adam walked in the door quietly. Sometimes the memory of being a Beast and locking Belle's father into the dungeon made him feel guilty. | |

| Maurica was not a resentful, begrudging man. "Adam!" he said happily, going to hug his one and only son-in-law. "How's life been treating you? Have you been good to my daughter?" he asked, chuckling. He knew that Adam adored Belle. |

| Maurice chuckled heartily. "I'm glad to hear it." Glancing inside of his modest cottage, he chuckled softly to himself. "All of you, please, come in. I'll put the kettle on the stove." he said, moving out of the doorway so that everyone could walk in. |

| Belle softly kissed his cheek, and then went to take a seat on the old moth eaten sofa. A lot of the furniture in her father's house was old and falling apart. No matter how much she offered to buy him some new furniture or at least loan him some money, he would turn her down. |

| Adam had offered that he'd stay at the castle, he refused that too. | |

| Belle realized in the end that it was the old man's pride that was keeping him from accepting things. He still wanted to be able to do things for himself and stand on his own two feet. And it was very hard not to respect that. |

| Maurice chuckled. "Well, I am adding some modfications to the wood chopping machine." he answered, smiling a bit sheepishly. "Nothing good yet, but I know that it will come to me eventually." he said, taking his tea kettle and placing it on the stove. |

| "I want to make it run more smoothly, and on coal instead of gas." Maurice answered, tempted to pull out his notes to show his dear grandson. |

| " But wouldn't coal be more hard to fuel in mid chopping grandpa?" Beau asked getting on a chair by the table to look at the plans. | |

| " Oh...I got it grandpa!!! What if you took these plans and scaled them up to the size of a mill powered by water!" Beau said. "It could be like a mill! But it chops wood!" | |

| Maurice chuckled softly. "That is deffinately in an interesting idea." And it was better for the planet. His only fear was the it would be a bit inconvenient for people to constantly have to refill it with water. |

| That sounded like an interesting idea, but it would deffinately be a work in progress. It would cost him a lot of money to buy all of the lumber to make his machine larger. |

| "Oh!" Maurice exclaimed, not having realized that the tea kettle had started to squeal. "Hold on, Beau." he said, going to turn off the stove. Sighing softly, he chuckled, and then asked Beau to get the tea bags. |
