The Wolf Hordes

For hundreds of years two kingdoms fought for dominance over the land: The Fair Kingdom of Atalia were art, music, and poetry flourished, and The Foul Tribes of the Wolf Hordes were Tribes of Orcs, Goblins, and Trolls ravage the land (don't make fun of the names....they just came to mind). The Prince of Atalia wishes to fight for his country, but the King won't allow it. So on the eve of battle, The Prince sneaks away and into the soldior's barracks. The day of the battle the Armies approach on opposite sides of the battlefield, and on they charge. However as the battle comes in close, it is apparent that the Wolf Hordes have come accross a powerfull and evil magic that allows them to controll the dead. The Prince, before the battle brave, runs away in fear into the Forests. He hides and runs from the Wolf Horde's armies, but is soon saved by an aged swordsman who bares a sacred blade. He takes the exiled Prince under his wing and teaches him the ways of the blade.

Three years pass, and the swordsman and the Prince part ways. The swordsman doesn't give the Prince his sacred blade, telling him that he must find his own, and instructs him to search for it in the East. The Prince sets out to find his blade, armed with nothing but his sheild and rusted sword. On his travels he encounters a caravan with a female prisoner. He stays with the caravan resolving only to stay the night....but the female tells him of a legendary blade locked in the vaults of an ancient castle, that she knows the whereabouts of. Convinced he frees her, and they travel to get the blade, so that the Prince can regain his throne as King.

(I guess I shall. We'll take it from the night that the prince slips into the baracks. Moonlight Sonata's character would probobly be a fellow soldior in the baraks who meets and befriends the prince before battle.)

Talneth ripped up his sheets and tied the rags together to form a rope. He than packed a bag and a training sword that was given to him by the royal swordmaster. He was still a novice in swordplay, but aspired for glory on the battlefield. He slipped down the rope and into the city streets. He than walked to the soldiors baracks and tiptoed in. He was a typical youngster, unaware of the horrors of war. He still felt that the life of the warrior was all that it was cracked up to be in the books. He wanted to be like them.

Of course, the barracks were full of soldiers either injured, recovering, or hell, even both. War was a deadly mistress and the men were all but the dumb guys to actually follow, for their 'country'. Lucan never found himself as loyal to his country as he was to himself. "The life of a battle was to win and survive, don't bother to help others if you know they were destined to die" was the phrase he lived by. He didn't care if others labeled him as a loner or someone trying to act all tough. He faced the horrors of war since he was little, losing his elder brother right in front of his eyes as he and his own parents ran off. He held the hilt of his blade which hung by his side tightly as he ached to shed more blood of the opposing enemy, but he calmed himself. "No use in getting myself all excited if we won't be attacking for a few days. Supplies are low..damn." he complained, shaking his head and then standing up quickly as he heard noises from the end of the long tent. He managed to spot a younger boy sneaking in, a small grin on his face as if he were a victor in sneaking in. Obviously, he wasn't. Not to Lucan. "Hey you, boy.." he said as he walked casually over to him and chuckled. He found it amusing that this kid thought he could just waltz right in.

He jumped at the sound of his voice. He turned his head to him shyly

"I'm not a boy!" he exclaimed, facing him

Lucan's eyes looked over him, though the boy wasn't all that short, his voice seemed to give away a bit. There's no way this kid knew what he was getting into though. "What are you doing here?" he asked, pulling his sword a bit closer to his side, his hand prepared to pull out the sword in defense. He never trusted anyone until a good amount of time passed, that's when he knew when to cool it. "Who are you?" he added another question as his eyes pierced into his.

"I.......was recruited yesterday" He said, knowing that he was lying his ass off.

When he saw the man put his hand on his sword he looked at him nervously

"Don't you have better things to do than to bother other people?" he asked

Lucan held back a laugh and smirked a bit. "Bothering? Bothering people? Really? If you were recruited yesterday, why were you sneaking in through the back of the barracks? Hm? Explain that to me, soldier." he mocked, smirking even more as he knew he had caught the little brat in his own lie. Lucan was one of the few soldiers that never barked back at their commanding officers, but he knew when to bite if things weren't right.

"I needed to take a piss! What?" he asked, keeping the charade going

Lucan sighed, not bothering to continue to skewer the little worm for any answers. "Well then..at least introduce yourself." he said, raising a brow and still keeping a firm hold on his sword. He was a bit put off that this guy was still working the whole 'I'm new' bull but, he had to admit this kid wasn't scared at all that he had a blade the length of his leg up to his hip.

"Um....my name is Andres" he said, using the first name that popped up in his head

Lucan twitched. What kind of name was that!? He sighed, shrugging. "Well then...Andres, have fun learning the ropes." he said sarcastically as he walked away, back to his own bed and finally letting go of his sword's hilt. He couldn't help feel that this kid was going to learn something with this war, but that it would be his first.

As soon as the man was out of hearing distance, Talneth breathed a sigh of relief, and went to join the other soldiors at the campfire
