It's a Love Story

She smiled, and kissed him before sighing. "Let's go to bed. I think I'll take another pain pill then fall asleep again."

"Alright, love," he kisse dher softly.

"Wanna help me up?" she chuckled. they were still in the living room from when Lilli was talking to Cassie about Jared.

He chuckled and helped her up gently. "Sorry, love."

She shrugged, smiling. "It's alright." she said, taking his hand.

He smiled and walked her up to their room, gently laying her down on the bed and giving her one of her pills. "Comfortable, love/"

She nodded. "Yes baby."

He kissed her softly. "I love you."

She nodded. "You've said that many many times tonight."

"But it's true. I do love you."

She nodded. "I know you do. And I love you."

He smiled. "Get some rest, love."

"Only if you rest with me."

"I won't leave your side except to tend to the kids," he promised, kissing her forehead.

She nodded, already starting to fall asleep. "You're a good daddy."

"Thank you, sweet. You're an excellent mommy," he kissed her softly. "Sleep now, love," he whispered.

She nodded, cuddling close to him. "sing me a song?" she mumbled.

He smiled and sang softly for her.

Half way through the song, Lilli was fast asleep.

9 years later

Rosie, Jon, and their little sister Roman were all at a party at one of Rosie and Jon's friends. Roman didn't really fit in with her brother's and sister's friends, but she tried. It was probably because she was a freshman. Jon looked after his little sister though, protected both of his sister's really well. Jon went to his older sister who he was closest to with a drink in his hands, one for him and one for her. "I don't care how upset Rome get's, she's not drinking tonight." he said.

"And yet you let me drink," Rosie teased, taking one of the drinks from his hands before he could protest. "But yeah, you're right. Mom and Dad would be pissed enough that we were drinking. Let's not get our asses chewed out."

"Exactly. And FYI, I only let her have a few drinks of mine. I don't care. I just don't want her buzzed enough so that Mom and Dad know she was drinking. Though they probably know already, I mean, what else to kids do at a party." he shrugged.

"Strip poker?" she laughed

"Yeah.. I've only done that once and I think you were the one making me do it..." he smirked.

"Okay, that just sounds... ew," she shook her head, chuckling. "Definitely not incestuous. Don't make me sound it, please."

He chuckled. "You were just being mean that day."
