What's Going On Here!? -my0own0perspective and me only-

Maria swallowed, closing her eyes for a moment. The idea of the pain he must have been in was horrifying to her. She had a sedative pill in her room, due to random night terrors, and would easily part with it to help him out. ''Baby, I can give you some medicine that'll help you sleep...''

"I'll be fine, love. Save it for those who need it more," he smiled softly up at her. "Believe it or not, I'm one of the better ones..."

Maria nodded, holding in her shock until much later. For nearly a day Maria would rush through her house, tending to as many as possible. She had gone through so many spools of thread that she had no idea how there was still so much left. Maria had to be more and more careful: she was growing weary, exhausted, and nervous for Alex.

A few days later, Alex was able to stand and shuffle around, slowly. He did his best to heal as quickly as he could - he knew Maria was worried sick (probably literally). "Get some rest, love. Vince and I can take care of things for a while," he told her. "Go eat and sleep."

Maria shook her head slowly, rubbing her eyes. The bags under her eyes had gotten worse. She wouldn't stop though... She felt like this was somehow her fault. ''I can't... I have to help,'' she said barely louder than a whisper.

Alex looked at vince and nodded. V apologized to her and lifted her over his shoulder, carrying her to her room while Alex shuffled along behind them. "Maria, you need sleep. You haven't been taking care of yourself at all," Alex told her gently, sitting down next to her. "I could use a nap, too," he admitted.

Maria sighed, her head slumping forward slowly as V set her down on the bed. ''But I don't wanna...'' She laid back, falling asleep quickly.

"thank you, vince," Alex said, laying down. "It's the least I could do for helping to protect the pack," he said, nodding, and left to go take care of the others.

Maria was extreeeeeeemely exhausted. She slept for nearly two days...

Alex only left Maria's side to get her water and carefully pour it down her throat so she didn't get dehydrated.

Maria slept a few hours into the second day, waking up after noon. She yawned, shivering as she looked down. ''Ugh...'' She kissed Alex softly, not trying to disturb him.

Alex was already awake, however, and looked up at her. "How are you feeling, love," he asked.

She shrugged, rubbing her face. ''I dunno. Better?''

"I'll go get you something to eat. Everyone's able to walk now, so you just rest while we build our strength back up. Promise?"

Maria sighed, smiling gently. ''Okay baby...''

He kissed her softly. "I'll be right back," he said and got up, a little easier than a couple days ago, and went to get her food and more water.

Maria stood up and opened her closet, pulling on the only long skirt she had -thank god it was thin and flowy- then put on a tank-top and laid down face-first on her bed.

Alex came back in and blinked. "Maria, what are you doing," he asked, sitting down next to her.

She smiled, sitting up slowly. ''Bein tired...''

"then rest some more, but please eat first," he told her gently, offering her a tray of food.

Maria shook her head while eatting. ''No more sleep. I can't have anymore...''

"Then relax a while," he said softly, kissing her cheek.

Maria curled up next to him, biting at an apple. ''I guess I could...''

He chuckled and kissed her cheek. "I'll relax with you."

Maria smiled. ''Thank you baby...''
