"I wanted to. I was worried. Is that bad," he tilted his head like he would have in his wolf form.

Maria smiled and kissed him. "Nah, but you do need your sleep. Take a few hours okay? I'll be fine, I promise."

"Alright," he gave in and kissed her softly. "Wake me if you need anything."

Maria smiled, kissing him back. "I will baby. Good night." She stepped out of the room, closing the door behind her.

He yawned. "G'night," he said, closing his eyes and curling up in the bed, falling asleep quickly.

Maria walked into her living room, sitting down on the couch. She rubbed her eyes, wanting so bad to lay with him now. But she wouldn't not until her parents left again...

Alex woke up to the sound of wolves fighting. He growled, jumping out of bed and running to Maria's side. "What's going on," he asked her, staring out the windows, putting her between him and a solid wall.

"I... I don't know. All I remember seeing was a wolf start running towards the house, then the big black wolf, your alpha right? Well he charged the other one and they've ben going at it for two minutes now. I'm still not sure what's going on... Alex?"

He frowned. "Get your parents to the basement. I hope to god your father doesn't own a gun," he muttered as he went to the door to allow one of his packmates in. The wolf bowed his head to Maria, letting her know that he was there to protect her. "Keep her and her parents safe," Alex told the wolf. "Show him to the basement, love. His name is Vincent, he goes by 'V' or Vince."

The wolf nodded, wagging his tail twice. I will protect them with my life, he promised and sniffed around the house. "Keep by his side," he kissed Maria softly. "I'll come back - I promise."

Maria nodded and took her parents downstairs, telling them there was a tornada warning... She watched as V slunk down behind them.

Nearly twelve hours past, and Maria stood at the small window, looking out into the black...

Vince tugged on Maria's shirt. Someone could easily bust through a little window and hurt her - he'd sworn to protect her. A breaking of promises between packmates is extremely dishonorable.

Alex fought alongside the Alpha and his packmates. It was turning out to be an all-out war against the neighboring pack. Alex was already bleeding in several places and had a few broken bones, but he pushed on fighting.

Maria looked down and eventually nodded, moving away from the window. She walked into the laundry room and opened the fridge, taking out a soda before laying down on the pile of clean clothes and closed her eyes. She woke up to the sound of silence, which was horrific.

The fight was finally over - wolf bodies were scattered all around the house, out of view of the house. Alex was closest, having collapsed and passed out behind a bush right around the corner from the road that lead to the house.

Vince wouldn't leave the room where the humans were being protected, but he knew the fight was over. He paced back and forth in front of the door and window impatiently.

Peeking her head around the corner, Maria beckoned to V. She didn't know what was going on, but she needed to get an answer, and soon...

Vince trotted to her, his ears back. He knew something was wrong. Alex would have come to get them by now.

Maria looked at him, her eyes like stones. "I'm going out there, and you either watch my parents and keep them safe or stay in here... I can handle myself..." And with that, she stood and disappeared upstairs.

He snorted and followed her, knowing Alex would kill him if he didn't at least keep her safe.

Maria shut and locked the patio door behind her. She wasn't going to let V follow her... She had promised herself not to. She jumped the railing, landing hard and started rolling down the hill.

Vince growled, scratching at the door. Damn humans and their metal! He howled, trying to rouse Alex, if he was still alive.

Alex heard the howl and opened his eyes, but he didn't have the strength to move. He whined, sniffing the air. He could smell Maria nearby.

Maria rolled to a stop, standing up slowly. She'd clipped a few bushes, which led to a shit-load of scratches, but she'd live. She saw Alex and grimaced, running to him. "Alex!?!"

He whined softly, thumping his tail once - he had at least enough strength to do that.

[brb, have to reboot to install updates]

Maria groaned, sitting infront of him. ''Baby... Baby look at me... Shit.'' She wrapped her arms around his body, pulling him up into her lap. ''Can you morph back?''

He whined and closed his eyes tight, slowly shifting back into his human form. He groaned, in more pain than he'd ever been. "You should have sent V out," he said through his teeth, trying to ignore at least some of the pain.

Maria sighed, kissing him when he was finally silent. ''I locked him inside... I didn't want him coming with me.'' She sighed, looking over his wounds.

"I think your parents need to go home," he groaned. "More packs will come looking for a fight..."
