She kissed him softly. "This will be good for him," she told him gently and went to pack her own things.

He got up and started packing.


Cody was on his bed sighing sadly.

Once Alex was done packing, she checked in on Cody again. "Honey, are you okay," she asked.

" Im scare" he confessed and closed his eyes.

"What are you scared of, sweetheart," she asked, sitting down on his bed.

" Of being a dad." he said softly.

"It is scary, being a parent," she admitted. "Because everything's new. You learn something every day. But it's more rewarding than it is fearsome."

" What if I'm a terrible dad" he sighed gently

"you won't be," she hugged him. "The only thing you really need to be a good dad is to have a good heart."

" I don't know.." he said softly. He doubted himself.

"You'll just have to wait and see, Cody," she told him gently. "I doubted myself, too. I think you turned out pretty good," she chuckled, kissing his forehead. "Are you ready to go? Nessie's waiting."

" Yeah I guess." he said softly. " Arn't you disapointed?"

"I do wish you would have waited a year or two. Or ten," she chuckled. "But I'm not disappointed or upset. As long as you'll be happy, and I know you will be. It was out of love, wasn't it?"

" Love and some crazy hormones." He said, " Mostly love."

She chuckled and hugged him close. "Then I'm 100% sure you'll be happy, so will Nessie."

" I can only hope." he said gently as he brought his stuff out into the hallway. He grabbed his cell, ipod, and stuffed dog for the plane. He wasn't ashamed of carring him with him on the plane. It was his securty animal.

They arrived in Forks within twenty four hours and arrived at the Cullens'. Alice met them at the door. "She's all but locked herself in her room," she said sadly. "She doesn't want to talk to anyone but Cody."

He gulped and knocked on the door. " Nessie.............Its me." He said.

Nessie opened the door a crack; she looked terrified and vulnerable.

" Nessie" he said softly. " Im here"

She opened the door and hugged him tight, crying as she clung to him. She was terrified and had no idea what to do.

" I'm here Nessie. I'm not gonna let anything happen>" he said

"Jake doesn't know yet, and Edward's been out hunting with Emmet," Bella told them softly, coming up the stairs. "So he doesn't know either. She doesn't want to disappoint either one of them. Jake keeps calling, but I keep telling him nothing's wrong and that he's freaking out for nothing."

" I guess I have alot to explain" he sighed gently

Nessie clung to him, burying her face in his chest.

Bella sighed as she looked at her vibrating phone. Jake again. "Let's leave those two alone. Cody, try to calm her down a bit, please. Her being so stressed isn't good for the baby."
