It's a Love Story

Lilli blushed. "Yeah, he bought me a horse." she smiled and rubbed her shoulder that still hurt. "I uhm... She got spooked and like, reared up I guess and I fell off."

She frowned. "Are you alright? I bet Jacob and his brothers were out there hunting again," she shook her head. "I love my grandkids to death, but sometimes they just need some learnin'."

"I hurt me shoulder."she said, dropping her hand. "But Mike's taking care of me."

"I'm sorry it hurt you, but I'm glad you have Mikey," she said. "And if you need anything, I'm here, too," she smiled.

She smiled and nodded. "We haven't really been introduced. I don't know your name. I'm Lilli, though everyone know's that."

She smiled. "I'm Grandma Rose." She got up to give her a hug. "Welcome to the family, Lilli."

She smiled, hugging back. "Thank you."

"Anytime," she smiled.

She smiled. "If you will excuse me, I think I'll go sneak a hug from Mike while he isn't expecting it." she said, giving a small curtsy then going towards Mike.

"Aren't they in love..." one of his aunts commented.

Grandma Rose smiled and nodded, excusing Lilly. "Yes. Finally, our Mikey has someone to share his life with."

The aunt nodded, watching as Lilli glomped Mike and they kissed briefly. "She's pretty, I think she'll fit right in witht his family."

Mike jumped, laughing, and kissed her, hugging her close. "I got a sneaky one," he chuckled.

Grandma Rose smiled and nodded in agreement.

"Oh yeah. I'm so sneaky I should be a ninja!" she said, laughing.

"A ninja, huh? I guess that'd work," he chuckled.

She laughed and kissed him. "Your grandma's nice. I like her."

He smiled. "Grandma Rose? She's the best," he agreed.

"She told me about an art gallery in town. Could you take it to me?" She asked.

Mike smiled. "Yeah, sure. Old Bert will love showing off his paintings. We'll go the day after tomorrow. How's that sound?"

She nodded, smiling. "I'd love it." she said, pulling on his hand to the dance floor. "Come dance with me."

He smiled, going with her. "I don't really know how to dance," he admitted.

"That's okay. Me neither." she smiled, pulling herself close to him and moving her hips against his, just wanting to feel the sway of their bodies together.

He chuckled softly, kissing her gently.

She started to wrap both arms around his neck but then winced slightly as her shoulder tweaked wrong. Sighing, but still keeping the smile on her face, she wrapped her hurt arm around his waist.

He kissed her forehead. "Ma's got some tylenol in her purse for you for when you need it. And there are ice packs ready in the freezer in the kitchen, too."

She shook her head. "No, I'm fine, really." she said, cuddling into him, dancing slowly even though it was a faster song. "I just want you to hold me for a little while."
