It's a Love Story

He smiled and followed her, making sure his hat was down over his face just in case his class saw him.

She took him under a bridge where no one could see them and smiled, kissing his cheek. "I think we're okay now."

He smiled and kissed her cheek, squeezing her hand softly. "Thank you."

she nodded. "Do you like baseball?" she asked, getting an idea.

"I'm not particularly good at it, but I do like hitting the ball with the bat. Not so much the running. Why," he asked curiously.

"Cause I think I'll take you to a baseball game." she smiled. She poked at his stomach. "I'll get you a fome finger and everything."

He chuckled. "That sounds nice. And expensive. You don't have to," he said.

"Mike, baby. We have money, you know that. It's no trouble. Besides, I want to." she smiled.

"Well, then I'll have to pay you back. Buy you a horse someday," he smiled and kissed her cheek. "Would that about even it up?"

she smiled brightly and nodded. "I think it might." she said and kissed his cheek. "You'll really buy me a horse?"

She smiled. "Of course. I'll buy one before you come down, so you can help train her. How's that sound?"

She nodded. "I'd love that."

He smiled and kissed her softly, unable to help it - he was too happy by the idea. "I'll keep my eyes open for you," he smiled happily.

She nodded, kissing him again. then jumped when her phone started ringing in her bag. She handed him the ice cream and started digging in her purse for her phone.

He jumped, too, and took her ice cream, holding it for her.

she found her phone and sighed, it was her sister. "hold on... I'll be back." she said, taking a few steps away from mike and answering her phone.

Mike nodded and stood there patiently, looking away politely so he didn't interrupt.

Lilli came back after having a heated conversation and sighed. "I have to go home early today." she said, taking the ice cream back.

He frowned. She didn't look or sound happy. "I'm sorry. Anything I can do to help," he asked.

She shook her head. "No." she said simply.

He frowned sadly and kissed her cheek. "When do you have to go?"

"A few hours... My sister went out, so she needs me to go home and do her chores. If I don't, then she'll tell my parents that I was out today when I wasn't suppose to be." she sighed. Her good mood was completely gone.

He frowned. "Your sister acts a lot like my cousins," he sighed.

She nodded. "She's older than I am..." Feeling down, she wrapped her arms around Mike's waist in a hug and rested her head on his shoulder. "It isn't fair...."

He hugged her back, rubbing her back soothingly. "It'll be alright. We can hang out some other time. Ain't the end of the world."
