Deren was in the library checking out an ACT book before he headed home for dinner.

Celine walked over to the door of the library and opened it. She held her hand to her head as the wind blew her hair about, and quietly walked into the library. Pausing to smooth down her hair, she then walked over to the front of the library to return her books.

" Library card?" the old lady said to Deren smiling.

Deren took out his wallet and handed her the green card. " I heard they're calling for rain, Mrs. Johnson."

" Ah, yes, bad storms. You better hurry on home, Deren" She smiled handing him his card back.

After turning in her books, Celine went to collect a few books to study for the upcoming midterms. Walking up to the front, she waited patiently for the blonde boy in the front to finish checking out his book. He looked familiar. He was one of those teachers that all of the teacher's had high hopes for. She was smart herself, but she toned down a lot of it. She came from a rich family, and as much as she hated to admit it, would be able to buy the future she wanted if need be. "Hello, Mrs. Johnson." she said, smiling softly. "Just these two books."

Mrs. Johnson smiled her warm smile at her. " Alright dearie." She was a loving old woman. " Have you met Deren? He's quiet the card."

Deren flushed as he put his book in his bag. " Uh Mrs. Johnson I don't think the young woman would-"

" Oh don't be so modest. Why back in my day" She started to laugh, " You two run along home now before it rains"

Celine glanced briefly at Deren before smiling slightly, and then flipping her short hair over her shoulders to hide her eyes. "I think I've seen him once or twice in the hallway." she said, smiling at the kindly librarian. Taking her book, she bid her goodbye, and then started to leave the library. While she tried not to be shallow, she couldn't help but admit that Deren was beautiful.

Deren blushed as he left shaking his head. When it came to girls he was bashful.

Celine looked at him thoughtfully, and then decided to take the old librarian's advice. "Hey, wait up," she called after him, looking up when she heard the faint crack of lightening. She bit her lip, and very briefly wrapped her arms around herself. She was terrified of thunder. And she had taken the bus here. She would be waiting fifteen minutes for the next bus to come.

After shaking off the fear of hearing the thunder, she awkwardly rubbed at the back of her head. "I, erm, was wondering if you would be interested to go out for a cup of coffee.." Celine murmured, looking down at her shoes. He was attractive, and he was smart too. He would be an interesting date.

" Uh, sure...um..." Deren said shyly. He never had been asked out before.

Celine smiled softly. "Alright. What time is good for you? I'm free this Friday..." her voice trailed off, and she gasped as there was another clap of thunder. Lunging forward, she buried her face against his chest, and held him, afraid.

Her nails gently dug into the sleeve of his jacket. "I hate the thunder..." she whisper, whimpering as the thunder sounded again. She had a terribly paralyzing fear. And she would have to wait fifteen minutes in the rain for a bus.

Celine pulled away, blushing softly. "Y-yeah.." she murmured softly, her cheeks still a bright pink. She was appreciative of his offer to take her for a ride home. "It's raining pretty hard, though." she murmured. "Should we just stay in the car for a while?"

Celine followed him quietly into the car, and looked down at her hands which were clasped together. A part of her felt tempted to take out a cigaerette and take a nice, long drag, but she wouldn't do it infront of him. It was a bad habbit, but she couldn't break it.

Deren sat in the car and turned on the AC so they wouldn't get hot while the windows were keeping the rain out.

Celine looked up at him for a few minutes. "I've seen you a few times at the University." she said softly. Celine didn't have some secret crush on him. But now that she looked at him, she was seeing that he was really something. "You look kind of lonely. You're always working or studying." Celine murmured.

" Yeah well....my parents expect me to be something great and...I don't think I could bare thier disapointment if I failed." He said softly gripping the stearing wheel.

"I understand that." she said softly. Celine was on bad terms with her family currently. "But what about you personally? Are you... happy?" Deren didn't look like he ever did anything spontaneous, or anything that he really wanted to do. She wouldn't be surprised if it turned out that their date was his first date.

Celine nodded her head. "I see." she said softly. The rain was pelting lightly against the car, and she sighed gently hearing the sound. "What do you want right now?" she asked softly. "If you could do whatever you wanted right at this minute, what would it be?"
