Brados smiled and got an apple for himself, eating it slowly.

She smiled. "These are good apples this year."

Brados smiled and nodded. "They are. Very juicy."

She chuckled. "That's what she said."

Brados laughed and nuzzled her. "I love you."

She smiled. "I love you too."

Brados smiled and finished his apple, burying the core like he always did. It kept the stink out of the air, offered nutrients to the soil, and might one day sprout an apple tree.

She smiled, handing him her core so he could burry it too.

He smiled and buried her core over his and patted the dirt down. "Still hungry," he asked.

Nick woke up, yawning tiredly. He blinked his eyes open and looked down at Ilane, who was still sleeping.

She shook her head. "No,I'm good."


Ilane felt him move and slowly started to wake up herself. "I'm still here...." She whispered softly.

Nick smiled softly, stroking her cheek lovingly. "I know, baby, so am I," he whispered and kissed her forehead.

"What do you feel like doing today, love," Brados smiled at her, leaning against the tree with her in his lap.

"I thought it was all a dream... me coming back and all." She said softly.

"Well, I can't change into a wolf... It'll hurt the baby. I really don't know what we should do." she said.

"No, it's not," Nick told her softly, stroking her hair. "You're safe now. I won't let anyone hurt you," he kissed her forehead.

Brados thought for a moment. "We can just sit and enjoy the weather. It's beautiful outside today," he smiled.

She sighed. "Nick, I'm hungry." She said.

"That's boring though." she mumbled.

"You want me to get you something, or do you think you want to try to come with me," he asked her softly.

Brados thought a minute. "I'm not sure, love. We could sit by the creek, or by the waterfall."

Ilane shook her head. "No... I don't want to walk anywhere."


Sam shrugged. "I don't care. Surprise me."

Nick kissed her forehead. "Alright, baby, what do you feel like eating," he asked, getting up out of bed.

Brados picked her up again and carried her around, growling when he saw Howard.

"Whatever we have that's cooked." She said.

"Hey, don't even acknowledge him... he's nothing to us." Sam said, ignoreing her father.

Nick nodded and kissed her cheek, hiding his worry from her. "I'll be right back, sweetie. I love you," he told her and left to get some meat and maybe some fruit.

Brados still glared at him as he passed with Sam in his arms, holding her protectively to his chest.

"I love youtoo." she said, staying in the bed. She looked under the blanket and gasped. She was bleeding again... alot.

Sam sighed. "Brados... ignore him."

Nick didn't hear the gasp, he was already out of the den by the point, and focused on finding food for her that she'd like. He got some leftover bear meat, and some cooked venison and brought it back to her. "Here you go, love," he said and froze, sniffing the air. "Honey, are you alright," he asked, smelling her blood; he rushed to the bed.

Brados snorted and looked ahead of him, walking to the place he'd first taken her to by the waterfall.

She looked at him, terrified. "I'm bleeding..."


Sam smiled, "Baby, let me get on your back." she said, already climbing there.

Nick pursed his lips, knowing she'd lost a lot of blood the previous night. "Alright, calm down, baby," he said, kissing her forehead. "I'll get my mom and Sam," he said and hurried out. 'Sam, sorry to ask you for you help again, but Ilane's started bleeding again,' he called out to his sister mentally, and told the same thing to his mother, who ran back to the den with a handful of herbs and another of rags.

Ilane moaned slightly. She was starting to hurt.

Sam stopped trying to get on Brados' back and sighed. "Shit... i didn't think it would come out... " she breathed, wiggling out of Brados' arms. then she touched her belly. "I can't change... Brados, run me back to Ilane."
