Trace and Me Only!

"Shh," he whispered. "Everyone's alright. No one's being attacked," he murmured soothingly, still stroking her hair.

She was quiet for a few minutes and the slowly opened her eyes a little and rolled over away from him looking at her alarm clock before falling asleep again.

Kade had all but disappeared, going back to his hiding place in the tree by her window. "I love you," he whispered to her window and disappeared to go back to the compound.

Chris came in and jumped on her bed "Aunty Bethy wake up!!!"

Kade arrived at the compound as the sun made it's way over the city. He reported in the events of the night, leaving out the part about visiting his mate, and went to his quarters to revel in the scent of her dress yet again.

The rogues were on the move. They'd seen the girl the warrior had obvious interest in. They grinned at one another, the three of them excited over the meal they'd have tonight.

"Mmmhm?" she asked grogily sitting up.
"Mom said she had to leave to go get some food, and she told me to ask you if you could help me get ready for daycare!" he said excitedly
"Alright, lets get you washed up." she said and got out of bed.

That night, Kade went out on his mission first. He was with Lucan tonight, explaining to him that he'd fallen for this Breedmate and wanted to make sure she was safe.

Lucan nodded in understanding. "Don't forget your duties to the Order, Kaden. We need more allies more than ever."

Kade nodded. "I understand."

The rogues attacked that night, drinking from Beth, Jamie, and Chris. Chris and Jamie were killed off as the third kept drinking from Beth.

Kade growled, feeling a tightness in his chest. "Something's wrong," he cursed and high-tailed it for Beth's apartment to find the Rogues feeding off of his mate. He killed all of them with a single swing of his sword and felt for a pulse in his unconscious mate. "Damn... Beth. Beth, can you hear me, baby," he asked, tearing his shirt to make bandages to stop the bleeding at her neck and wrist.

She didn't say anything but a small groan that passed her lips before her head rolled off to the side.

"It's alright, baby. I'm here now. You're safe," he murmured, gingerly picking her up as Lucan walked in. "For f*ck's sake. What happened," he growled.

"Rogues attacked. Her sister and nephew are dead. I'm looking after her wounds," Kade said, totally in warrior mode, though his heart was definitely pounding, worried for his mate.

She distantly heard voices fading in and out but she couldn't say anything, she couldn't move, she couldn't scream, she was in so much pain, too tired to open her eyes... At least these men didn't sound like they were going to hurt her. She just hoped Jamie and Chris were alright.

Once they were in the van, headed to the compound, Kade stroked her hair softly, murmuring reassurances in a soft, comforting tone. When he feared she was loosing too much blood, he cursed.

"What's wrong," Lucan demanded.

"She's lost a hellofalot of blood," Kade growled.

"Do what you gotta do, man," Lucan said, hurrying to the compound.

Kade nodded and murmured his apology to his mate before he bit his wrist and held it to her mouth. "Drink, Beth," he whispered softly. "Take your fill."

A drop or two fell on her lips but she couldn't muster up the strength to drink any of it.

Kade's heart tightened in his chest. "Come on, baby," he murmured gently, letting more blood fall into her mouth. "Drink," he urged, afraid that he'd lose her.

She tasted a little on her tongue, and it actually tasted good. She took a little bit more, and a little bit more, and very slowly her strength started to come back. She figured those things turned her into a vampire and that why she was drinking from this person's arm.

"There you go," he encouraged gently. "Drink your fill, sweetheart. I won't let anyone hurt you," he kissed her forehead tenderly. "You're safe with me," he whispered.

She drank more untill she felt like she was going to suck him dry. She still felt week and whispered horrified with herself, and with what happened. "Where's my sister and Chris?"

He frowned and held her closer gently. "It's alright," he murmured, not wanting to tell her that she'd lost the ones that she'd left him for. She'd only gotten handful of days with them since she'd left him. He didn't have the heart to tell her that she'd lost them.

She didn't know why his man was hugging her, why she felt connected to him, but she didn't completely mind. He was attractive enough, and she just felt safe in his arms, "Am I a vampire now?" she asked him quietly.

"No, sweetheart," he told her gently, stroking her hair. "I healed your wounds. We're taking you somewhere safe where you can rest and get your strength back."

She laid her head on his shoulder and just nodded. "Will Chris and Jamie be there too?"

He looked pained. "I sensed you were in danger," he murmured. "By the time I got to your apartment, you were the only survivor..." he murmured regretfully, feeling horribly guilty for not being there in time.

She burried her head in his shoulder and started crying.

He held her close, his heart hurting for her. "I'm so sorry, Beth," he murmured. "I should have been there sooner..."

She clung to him and cried, "They were my life..."

"I know, honey," he murmured, gently rubbing her back. "I'm so sorry..."
