Holly and I Only!!!

That morning, Baily woke up late and knowing that Damon slept in the morning, she kissed his cheek softly before slipping out of the bed. She went to the kitchen, hoping to find something good to eat. She also hoped to see Niko, to ask him about his mate.

Damon slept through her getting out of bed and woke up a few minutes later as her place began to grow cold. "Baily," he grumbled tiredly.

Niko was still up and wandering around, mainly in the security room, watching the screens.

Baily was walking back to the bed room passed the security room. She stepped inside and smiled slightly. "Good Morning Niko."

Niko glanced at her. "Good morning. You going to school today?"

She shook her head. "No, it's our day off."

"Ah. Enjoy it," he said politely.

She smiled happily at him. "Thank you, I plan to. I was hoping to ask you about your mate. I'm confused about things. About how I'm suppose to be feeling about Damon."

"What are you confused about," he asked, turning his chair towards her. "That it's moving so quickly, or that your'e falling for a vampire?"

"That I'm falling for a vampire, and that he knows what I'm feeling all the time." she said softly.

"What's confusing about it," he asked. "He has your blood flowing through his veins. He can sense what you're feeling. He will base his actions off of those feelings, so he doesn't upset you."

"Yes, I understand that. But, how am I suppose to be feeling? I've only known him for a few days and I already feel as if I can't sleep without him next to me. If he wants me to quit school and move to that darkhaven place, then I'd do it. Just to make him happy. And it's only been a few days." she said.

"Drinking a Breedmate's blood bonds us to them. Most of the time, drinking a Breedmate's blood will trigger us falling for that Breedmate. There are some Breed males who will use it to their advantage, though Damon is one of the last ones who would mistreat a Breedmate," he assured her. "I have no doubt that Damon has probably pledged himself to you, whether he's told you or not. You won't get rid of him unless you tell him to leave. Even then, he'll watch over you from a distance."

"So, what I'm feeling... Is normal?" she asked.

He nodded. "Totally normal."

"Did your Breedmate feel the same way?" She asked, not meaning to hurt him.

He nodded. "She was more accepting of it, though. Everything was much more conservative back then, and engagements and marriages came by fairly quickly."

She nodded. "What was she like?" she asked.

He thought a moment, letting himself remember. "She was the daughter of a duke. She hated the parties her family made her go to. Crowds irked her like nothing else, but when she heard of me attending one of the duke's balls, she'd dress her very best and be the first to approach me. She was beautiful," he murmured, his gaze softening, his eyes staring far, far away into the long-ago past. "I remember the night I asked for her hand. She was wearing a white dress with a light blue ribbon around her middle. Her hair was half-up in a bun. The rest of her curls hung around her shoulders. I'd walked out to the garden with her and got down on one knee. She said yes before I even asked the question," he chuckled, shaking his head.

She chuckled. "did she know she was a breedmate when you asked her?"

He nodded. "I had told her by then. The first I met her, she knew she was different. She'd sensed something different about me and confronted me directly. Her ability was simply sensing something other-worldy in some people."

She nodded. "Damon said that she looked a little like Fairly. You think they could have been related?"

He shrugged. "Fairly could be one of Lidia's great-great nieces or something, I guess. But she and I didn't have any children. We didn't get the chance."

she nodded, "Guess so. Well, thank you for answering my questions. I should get back to Damon before he wakes up and freaks out because I'm not there." she smiled. She kissed his cheek then walked out, going back to Damon. She felt a bit better for some reason, know that the way she felt was normal.

Niko nodded, his eyes still far away, thinking of his Lidia.

Fairly got up, stumbling her way to the kitchen, past the surveillance room, to get her coffee.
