She blushed and in a stroke of bravery, she leaned forward and kissed his lips softly, letting them linger.

Her heart was beating a million miles a minute as her hands rested on his chest and she settled into his lap. She could just kiss him forever.

Ryder kissed her until his fangs filled his mouth. He quickly pulled away and rested his forehead on her shoulder, holding her. He didn't want to scare her, but he didn't want to let her go, either. "Sorry," he murmured. "It has the same bodily reaction as thirst and anger..."

He hid most of his fangs behind his lips, only the tips showing. He couldn't hide his glowing eyes. Still, he raised his head slowly and looked at her, looking like he didn't want to scare her.

Images of him trying to get more blood out of her flashed into her mind and she jumped, closing her eyes. It wasn't him she was scared of, it was his blood lust.
