"It's okay." she said softly. "I kindof actually looks cool."

He looked at her like "Yeah... right" and sat up, stretching and yawning.

"Alright, sorry for trying to make you feel better." She mumbled.

"Sorry," he told her. "Your scar is proof that I hurt you. I don't think it looks very cool."

She bent her elbow so that it wasn't seen by either of them. "I didn't dream last night."

"I had my mind wrapped around yours like a shield. That might have had something to do with it," he shrugged.

"Why did you do that?" seh asked.

"The same reason I wrapped my arms around you," he admitted with a shrug.

"Protection?" She asked, still confused.

He nodded, not quite sure he was ready to admit that he loved her.

She nodded. "thank you."

He nodded and stood. "What do you want for breakfast," he asked her gently.

"I'm not to hungry." she said.

"Let me know when you are," he told her gently. "We'll go get something for you."

"I can get something myself." she said softly. "You don't have to wait on me if you have other things to do."

He shook his head. "I've been... out of commission for six months. I don't have anything to do..."

"No training or whatever?" She asked.

"My relationship with you is more important at the moment. I need to make sure you aren't afraid of me," he murmured.

"That may take a little while..." she said softly. "But I might not be afraid anymore. I let you hold me last night."

He nodded and reached out and stroked her cheek. Should he tell her now? Or later?

She didn't flinch at all, but leaned into his touch. "I'm not scared anymore." she mumbled, mostly to herself.

"And if you saw my fangs right now," he asked gently, stroking her cheek with his thumb.

"I don't know..." she said hoestly.

Ryder stared into her eyes and finally blurted it. "I love you."

Lilli couldn't help but smile, but she couldn't say that she loved him back. It made sense that she did, but she couldn't admit it to herself. "I don't know what to say."
