An Arranged Marriage with an Old Friend [one other]

Boy1 and Girl1 were best friends - they'd grown up together and did everything together. At some point, they'd fallen in love by the time they were ten. That's when he moved away and they lost contact.

Years later, Girl1's grandfather shows up and tells her that she's been arranged to marry, and that she has to move to live with her future husband.

Girl1 isn't fond of this idea, but she cannot disobey her grandfather, the head of her family. So she goes to meet her husband. Lo and behold, it is her old childhood friend. But he's changed. He's the father of an unborn child and is in a relationship with the soon-to-be-mother (Girl2), a girl in their class. Boy1 is harsh towards Girl1, as is Girl2.

But as the days and weeks, even months go on, Boy1 and Girl1 begin to fall for each other again, between all their fights.

What will happen to Girl2 and the baby? Will Boy1 and Girl1's marriage last? Will they even get married?

Name: Damien
Age: 20
Personality:
(Younger): He was sweet and protective of his (Girl1) and didn't let anyone poke fun at her. She was his, as far as he was concerned, and she deserved the best.
(Older): He's harsher now, and more rash in his actions. He still considers (Girl1) his and thinks she deserves the best. But he knows the best isn't him, so he is conflicted in how he treats her.
Bio: The son of a very traditional family, he was brought up with strict manners and ways of doing things. He did not know who he would be marrying when they told him he'd been arranged to be married. When his parents forced the move, he withdrew into himself. He didn't like being away from his (Girl1) and swore he'd never love another. Well, he didn't love (Girl2) but he'd gotten drunk one night and things just got out of hand. Now he was a father and had little choice but to take care of the girl and her - their - child.
Likes: Peanut butter cookies (secret, only Girl1 knows- he wasn't allowed to eat sweets as a kid), sunshine, swimming, drinking
Dislikes: Prissy/High maintenance girls, rainy days, domestic violence, crowds
Favorite memory: He and Girl1 had gone to the pool one sunny afternoon, and she had brought peanut butter cookies that her mom had baked the previous night. It was the first time he'd had sweets. Within the next several weeks, she had him try all different kinds of sweets, but the peanut butter cookies remained his favorite.



[Girl2]
Name: Stacey
Age: 20
Personality: A self-proclaimed bitch. She likes to be the center of attention and just wants to get rid of the baby. Damien wouldn't have it, however. He said he'd raise the baby himself after she gave birth to it. After she noticed how many girls were after him, she told him she'd stay with him and they'd raise it together.
Bio: She was born into a rich family that ended up losing everything because her dad left her and her mom. Her and her mom ended up all but homeless. Stacey's pride was hurt and now she's determined to show her dad that she doesn't need him or his money.
Likes: The beach, tanning, money, high social status, the color pink
Dislikes: The color yellow, bugs, allergies, ugly people, babies
Favorite memory: The last Christmas before her dad left them. She got more toys than she'd ever gotten in her life. She had tons of friends back then and their family was invited to tons of parties.

[Guy2]
Name: Michael
Age:23
Personality:
(Younger): He actually did care for his brother. However, he was jealous of how close he and his girlfriend(girl1) were. His parents also favored his little brother more than him. It was ridiculous but he sucked it up and they were close enough.
He was sincere, honest, and straight to the point.
(Older): He is now serious, thoughtful (sometimes), and is persistent. He doesn't back down easily especially after joining the Navy. He doesn't like to be stepped on.
Bio: Being part of the traditional family as well, he knew he one day would be promised to someone. He didn't want that, so after he turned 18, he moved away and joined the service. He wasn't going to fall into expectations. Hell no! But he had to come back, at least to see what it was his family wrote him. The "disaster". He knew his little brother was in trouble, and somewhere in him, he did worry.
Likes: Pool, and the outdoors
Dislikes: High maintenance girls, he can't stand them
Favorite memory: When he was accepted into the Navy, of course everyone was sad, but most of all his brother was the one that was there at his ceremony, his initiation. That's one reason he is so entitled to being there for his little brother, even if they were at a tense stand still. They both swore that they were brothers til the end.



[Girl1]
Name: Marisa
Age: 20
Personality:
(Younger): You could say she was naive and thought that everything was fine as they were. She was also very loving towards Damien, whom loved her and treated her like a princess.
(Older): She's more realistic and doesn't think too positive on everything. She considers Damien her first love and would always cherish him and their memories together, but aside from that, she knows she could never have him again.
Bio: Marisa is the daughter of a somewhat wealthy family, her father being a chiropractor and her mom being a teacher at the university. She never expected to be betrothed to Damien and of course wanted to decide against it after hearing about his recent problem-He was going to be a father. He was so young! It just told her that he was trouble, even though she didn't want to admit it.
Likes: Cats and peanut butter cookies for they gave her her most fondest memory.
Dislikes: Girly girls and those who think they're better than everyone else
Favorite memory: The first time that Damien had said that he loved her. It was on the fourth of july and as soon as the fireworks went off, he had kissed her and told her he loved her.

Damien sighed to himself as Stacey began whining that she was hungry again. "Then go get some," he told her. They were sitting in the den. He was reading and she was watching some girly show.

"But I don't want to get up," she pouted, rubbing her slightly swollen belly.

"Then too bad," he shrugged, turning the page.

She grumbled and eventually turned the TV up so loud that he couldn't concentrate.

"Stacey, turn it down!"

"what? I can't hear you!"

Getting pissed, he got up and went to make her a damned taco. Pregnant women!!

While he was in the kitchen, the phone rang so he picked it up. "Hello," he answered in an annoyed tone.

"Your fiance's flight gets here tonight at eight," his father told him. "Don't be late." He didn't even say goodbye, just hung up.

Damien grumbled. He didn't know who his parents had chosen for him to marry. As long as it wasn't Stacey, he was fine.

On the plane, Marisa was nervously staring out the window, wondering who this suitor was. "God...I haven't even finished college and I'm married? Or soon to be....Ugh, wish I could just run away. I don't want this.." she mumbled, her heart aching as she was coming back home. That was the reason why she chose a faraway college, to get away from it all. From him. "Well, I doubt he lives there anymore, he must've grown up and left too." she said, though secretly she sort of hoped he was still there. She looked at her phone, sighing as she still remembered his number. She smiled a bit, but it soon dissipated as she remembered what happened those years ago, what caused them to break apart. "Geez, I don't want to go there.." she chuckled, shaking her head and rubbing her face.

Michael however was already in their old town. He had decided to leave it for a surprise to meet up with his brother. Still, with the jet lag, he was deciding on the next day to visit. He wanted to get some rest. He was curious though, to see who it was he knocked up. Hell, he was a bit worried to tell the truth. It sucks! Poor guy wasn't responsible.

Damien got the tacos to Stacey once they were done. She ate them hungrily and then whined for more. He made her go make her own tacos and unplugged the TV so she couldn't turn it up again. He flopped back down on his spot on the couch and ignored her whining until she finally got up and made her own tacos. He enjoyed the silence while it lasted, but soon it was time to begin heading to the airport. He plugged the TV back in for her and took the keys. "I'm going out," he told her.

"Where? I want to go."

"Airport. I'm picking up my brother," he lied.

"Ohhh, is he hot?"

Damien rolled his eyes and locked the door behind him as he went out to the garage. He drove to the airport, wondering who his parents could have possibly picked to be his wife.

Marisa was waiting in the luggage pick up area, anxious to see who the slimeball was that she was marrying supposedly. Over and over, she thought of ways to escape the wedding, but of course, how would she live? That's where she was stumped. If she were to go back to college, would she find her funds emptied because she refused her parents? She sighed, whining quietly as she looked over all the men that walked past and prayed that the guy was at least decent. "Please, I don't want a huge ass to be my..ball and chain." she muttered, her eyes widening as she saw a familiar face from afar.

Damien got to the airport and went to the terminal his dad said she would be in. He got there and stood by the doorway, glancing around with his iPod headphones in, listening to his playlist. He noticed someone staring at him from the corner of his eye and turned to look. His eyes widened at the familiar face. Time seemed to stop as they stared at each other. The 'trance' finally broken by someone who ran over his toe with their heavy bag, he shot a look at the jerk and went to her, pulling out his headphones.

He felt nervous around her, like he used to before he told her he loved her a decade ago. "Let me take your bag," he told her, the softest he'd spoken since his family moved. His mind started racing. What was he going to do? Stacey was a bitch from hell and would surely start saying things to Marisa to upset her. He had to keep an eye on both of them...

Marisa stared still, gulping nervously. This couldn't be it. He can't be her soon to be husband. It's just not possible! "Thanks....Um, is this supposed to tell me that we're basically screwed? That you're my 'husband to be'?" she asked quietly, but not in disgust. She didn't know how to take it honestly. It was all surreal and not in a good way. She sighed as it seemed that things would remain silent til they arrived wherever they were going. Still, she didn't want to accept it, maybe if it was a couple of years ago when they were still together, but not now. Not ever. No one really knew as to what led to their break-up except Michael, who swore he would never tell anyone. Hell, she hoped to not even see him.

He frowned. "'Screwed', huh?" Is that what she thought? Did she not love him still? "You're the last one remaining on this flight, right," he asked, holding up the note his father had written. It had the flight number and time of expected arrival on it. Being given no denial, he took her bag. "Come on," he muttered, his mood going south quickly. He led her to the car and unlocked the door for her before getting in. Once she was settled in the seat, he pulled the car into reverse and into drive, driving back home. He pulled into the driveway and into the garage. "Before you go inside... Just know I'm taking responsibility for my screw-up," he told her. "That is all I'm doing." He felt he needed to explain why there was a pregnant girl in his house who was living there. He didn't care for Stacey at all. He got her bag out of the back and went into the house.

Stacey heard the door open and peeked her head to see who it was. She saw the girl and frowned. "This is your brother...?"

He rolled his eyes. "Yes. This is my brother," he said sarcastically. Dumb blond. "Marisa is my fiance, as chosen by my father." He turned to his fiance. "You can either stay in my room or take Stacey's room and she'll stay in my room. Your choice."

"But all my stuff's in my room," Stacey whined.

"They can be moved. Let her settle where she wants," he told Stacey. "I'm going out back." He turned back to Marisa. "Help yourself to whatever's in the house. Eat what you want, drink what you want. I'll be out that door," he pointed to the door that lead out the kitchen to the indoor pools. He went to get changed to his trunks and get his goggles. He grabbed a towel once he was changed and turned on the jets of the current pool. He turned it on high and swam in place against the current. It worked his muscles and he got into a steady rythm. It helped him think and work off frustration.

On the way to the house, Marisa could feel the tension between them growing like a tidal wave. She never thought she'd see him again, so obviously it was awkward. She wasn't even able to explain that maybe it was just coincidence and maybe they could talk it out with their parents. But so far, with his attitude (which surprised her) she was kept silent. It was obvious that everything went to crap when she came back. She looked over the blond and twitched slightly. This girl's voice....It made her want to shake her violently. As soon as he took off, she then looked towards the girl and cleared her throat. "Um..I didn't really..agree to this marriage. Just so you know. I'll just sleep on the couch or something, I wouldn't want to take your room or anything." she muttered, not feeling like she should compromise but for the sake of her sanity and his, she decided.

She then followed after Damien, huffing. "Are you serious? Were you high or something? You knocked a girl up?" she asked, totally horrified that he would stoop so low or would end up doing something so stupid.
